Update: After the very hefty price increase this place has become very expensive for what it is. They explain on the poster that the increase was caused by inflation but they increased prices roughly by 20%.. It competes in prices with good restaurants in the city centre. That's a bit too much for this place.. Also, I found it to be unreliable. For a long time already the opening hours on the website are completely out of whack. Same with the info here in Google I just suggested update on Google to correct the opening hours based on the poster on their front door. Few times I was on the way to them when I realized it's closed. Same with certain items on the menu, some are served only on Fridays and weekends but it's not specified anywhere so you might arrive planning to eat something during the week and be told on the spot it's not being done that day. It's just not organised. Also, the outside area could use sweeping and wiping. ------- Good selection of food, some with a healthy twist, which is nice. Every time I go I try something else. My partner loves the pepperoni pizza they do there on weekends. The only thing I don't fancy from this place is coffee actually... I tried it on few occasions and it wasn't that great.
Location is great, staff are friendly, portion sizes are appropriate. Good system for ordering - pay in advance then sit down and they bring you the food based on an order number. Plenty of seating space indoors, with a nice little conservatory type area out back.Food: 5/5
friendly staff; it looked like a busy place on Saturday; we had a walk by the Royal Canal nearby, so it was a lovely place to stop for a cup of cappuccino Food: 5/5
Really terrible coffee, honestly undrinkable and had to be thrown away. Overextracted to the point of being ashy and extremely bitter. Both the latte and cappuccino we ordered came with the same frothy dish-foam milk. The cinnamon swirl on display turned out to be a pain au raisin. Hopefully just an off day for them but I can't say I'll be going back to find out.
My reason for only four stars overall. Straight away I'll point out that the Full Irish Breakfast price has increased substantially since Spring '22, It is now €17- with coffee. All ingredients were cooked perfectly, but did expect a larger portion of beans, the amount supplied was pitiful. It was a very busy morning for them when I arrived but was satisfied with the waiting time for my delivery of food, apart from a near cold plate, which did not help in keeping my food warm as I was sitting outside in the morning sunshine. My table was clean and tidy when I arrived, as staff had just wiped down and disinfected the area after the previous customer. The atmosphere is what you make of it, all depending on your own experience and the mood you're in. Parking: Either parking outside if lucky or parking in SuperValu underground carpark opposite.
Nice food with plenty of options. We had open sourdough and focaccia sandwiches with coffee and everyone enjoyed what they got. Not cheap for what you are getting but it was nice. No menus on tables and you order at the bar and they drop it down. Great location along the canal if out walking so we’ll be back.Recommended dishesSourdough Melt
Staff is friendly and food is delicious. The downside is that it is pricey, and for this reason, I was surprised that, after paying and getting my order, I had to come back to grab my coffee and bring it to the table myself. The place is cosy, but not too spacious. I had to move chairs around myself in order to fit a highchair - which again, I had to go looking for it myself.
Gluten Free/Coeliac people stay away! Awful experience today! I’ve been going there for the last 2 years. Before it was okay, a half decent gluten free breakfast. But today, they served it with non gluten options. I know the menu well enough cause I go there a lot. I know what is and what isn’t gluten free. They didn’t apologize. Simply gave me a place to take off what I thought wasn’t gluten free. I then asked for a new breakfast as the gluten options were mixed with the non gluten options. I saw in the kitchen then simply took some items off with their hands and went to give it back. Again NO APOLOGY! NO MAKING A NEW ONE! They weren’t impressed when I said it wasn’t good enough and I wanted my money back. Really dangerous to give gluten to coeliac sufferers. Rude not to correct and apologize. And then to simply throw the money in my hand without any remorse is disgraceful. Never going there again! Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free/Coeliac
Food is just unbelievable. It's so nice that I can't help myself and order 2 dishes sometimes. So much variety. Blackened chicken sandwich and breakfast burrito are just amazingFood: 5/5
A coffee and fairly bland sandwich came to a ridiculously overpriced €18.95, for this reason alone I will never revisit. The place has no atmosphere and it felt a bit grotty inside. The tables, chairs and windows could do with a deep clean. Staff were friendly though.
