Thought I’d give this one a try. It was a take away. If you want to be over critical, I suppose the place could do with a refurb, but I was there for the chips and not the decor. It felt like a family run place and the staff were really great. Really attentive and friendly. We had cod, cod roe, scampi, chips, curry sauce, mushy peas and a cheeky pickled egg while I waited. All my items were cooked fresh. Nice and hot, and I was pretty impressed with the quality. The batter on the cod was very light and crispy, not greasy. Definitely will return.

It's a chip shop,take away and eat in,food is nice,staff lovely,always go there when we visit here... Recommend here..

We had Haddock and chips from the Dolphin on Wednesday night (27th DEC) and wow they were gorgeous! We honestly have never tasted any as nice as these were, I've tried other places in Barmouth but no comparison. Credit where its due we loved them!

We sat in the restaurant. Nice food, reasonably priced. Nice staff. Seating area was a little cramped, maybe 1 table too many. Also, when the chip machine is in operation, it can make seating area quite noisy. Well worth a visit though.
