Fantastic location for hiking, picnics and views Limited parking but on a clear day you can see for miles . One eyesore blott on the horizon the ugly Amex stadium spoils the view apart from that . Rare orchids wildflowers and birds and great rambling
Me and friends visited there on winter time. There was full of snow and we experienced some awesome views. We didn’t saw the place without snow but I believe it’s a very beautiful place.
This was perfect for a walk after a big lunch. The car park was full when we got there, as it isn’t very big, but we found a spot eventually. We came across all the cows in the dew pond, which was adorable to watch. We ended up walking way more than we anticipated, so you do need the right shoes for this area - our feet hurt so bad when we got back to the car. On a sunny day you’ll also find an ice cream truck!
Very nice open area to tromp around. Well signposted, and good car park. It's very much a straight line for walking, so you'll have to walk back and forth to get back to the car park. Sure it's ideal for longer walks along the South Downs Way. Rain in the lowlands but bright and clear on the top the day we visited...ideal.
Beautiful. Has a national trust car park. Lots of different length loops you can do from 15mins to 2.5hrs. Use maps.me. Update with the snow!
One of beautiful places along the famous South downs way trekking trail. Magnificent views! Lots of walking/running/cycling trails. Nothing much up here except for a food truck, unlikely that it will be there always. You can see Brighton nd Hove FC home stadium, seven sisters peaks from here! And its thrilling to ride bicycle uphill about 400-500 ft height, 1-1.3 miles long. Loved it
Went here on a hike for my wife's birthday. The area was beautiful, and the walk pretty nice going - a little steep going up and down, but not really surprising! I was a little disappointed as I had been lead to believe that Ditchling Beacon is the highest point on the South Downs, however the trig point is located next to a fence to a field which is clearly 2-3 metres higher... It is worth noting that buses to / from Brighton only run on Sundays and Bank Holidays during the winter months. That caught us out and required some quick re-planning on the train!
Managed ride up the Ditchling Beacon. From the top, it's a magnificent scenic view. There is a car park as you reach the summit. There is no other facility.
Lovely view, clean area for nature walks, quite steep in places. car park is quite near triangulation point. national trust park free.
Was a good run and walk ..
