This castle definitely a must visit. If you haven't been before it's best to park in national trust car park and experience the main house as well as the castle, you will be charged for parking. If you just want to go to the castle, park in Llandeilo and walk, it's not far. In the spring the bluebells in the wood on the way up is nothing short of breathtaking. An hour can easily be lost in the castle itself, the views of the valley down towards Carmarthen are beautiful.

Park in Llandeilo and walk through lovely park grounds (saves on the parking charge). Amazing views from the castle. The grounds are huge, with deer running around. Definitely worth a visit anytime of year.

This is solely based on Dinefwr Castle itself: Dinefwr is a great castle to visit on a walk in the surrounding parkland but also with its links to the historic Principality of Deheubarth. The views overlooking the River Tywei and nearby Dryslwyn Castle are lovely.
