Went to Devitts on the advice of our tour bus guide as this is one of the pubs that features local music and good food. Only had the Crispy Fried Chicken chicken tenders and a couple of pints. Traditional bar food but it was better than expected. The curry sauce was a great dipping sauce and the chips were perfect. The live music was amazing and gives you the Dublin music/pub experience. Check on the website daily for who is playing. It was a great way to spend our last night in Dublin.
No complaints here. Good pints and a tasty lunch that we couldn’t even finish because it was a lot of food. Spacious in the back. Would check it out for lunch or dinner breakfast looks good too based on pics. Checked out the football/soccer game and enjoyed our time there.
Excellent live bands with traditional Irish musics, great selection of beers on draft. Managed to get the seats upstairs next to the band last night and had a fabulous night with the locals. Amazing crowd and table service as well. Thanks to both of the musicians from last night and we left some cash in their tip jug as a token of appreciation. Love Dublin, very friendly people in this city.
We visited back on a Sunday in May 2022. Everyone was routing for a football game that we didn’t particularly have an interest in. However, as anyone knows, visiting a pub when others are rooting for anything can be particularly fun. There were plenty of locals in this establishment having a great time. In all honesty we had some of the best meals we had in our trip to Dublin in this pub. Fantastic food, great atmosphere, great service, couldn’t ask for anything more. A must visit in Dublin if you ask me.
Went into Devitts on a whim for lunch and we weren't disappointed. A warm welcome, friendly service, comfortable surroundings with a real traditional Irish feel to the interior. Food was really good and very generous - literally couldn't finish the main course. Would highly recommend.
Great lunch - only had a sandwich but was delicious. One of us had fish and chips and that was really good. Great Guinness, and great bar!
Very good stay in a great location. Hotel’s wifi was excellent and front desk service was really helpful whenever we needed anything. Scrambled eggs were slightly overdone both days for breakfast. Room was good. Shower a bit underpowered and no shower caps available. Also no usb charging points in the room. But I’d be happy to stay here again.
Don’t order the stew! Very little flavor, the beef is anything but tender, and the sauce seems like it’s emulsified and mass-produced. Lively atmosphere, but a disappointing meal. Addendum: I added my own Guiness to the broth at my table and it definitely improved the dish! Also helped cool it off because it was served absolutely scalding.
Outstanding!! We had our last dinner there on 11/05 before ending our 16 day trip to Ireland. Food and atmosphere were exceptional!! I had the seafood chowder as a starter and beef guinness stew for the main meal. It was way more food than I would typically order, but it was our last dinner! Can't wait to visit again!!
Decent pub. Curry was really good. Great flavour and spicy! Staff/service was ok. Nothing to rave about but not overly attentive.
