Welcome to Detour Cycles, Malvern's new cycle service centre!

Story

Here at Detour we are passionate about cycling and have experience in mountain biking, road riding, touring, family rides, audax and trials riding. With our modern, well equipped workshop and specialist knowledge we will keep your bike working smoothly, so you can just enjoy the ride.

We pride ourselves on our friendly service and honest advice. We have a well stocked shop with all the spare parts and cycling gear you might need, from top brands such as Shimano, Giro, Lezyne, Schwalbe, Knog and BBB. So come in and have a browse or just stop by for a chat.

Absolutely superb service from Matt. Really helpful and pleasant guy, who goes above and beyond any previous LBS I have been to. I had a bit of a rush to get a recent bike build checked over, gears indexed, brakes balanced etc in time for a professional bike fit later in the week. He managed to fit me in, despite a 2 week backlog of work (that itself is an indication of his popularity and expertise-he is obviously in great demand), working into the night to get my bike ready by the next day. Cant think of any bike shop I have been to in the past that would do that. A really excellent service from a top bloke. I would highly recommend his services.

Detour Cycles offer a friendly, knowledgable and professional service. Matt regularly services my bike and also recently fixed up a 2nd hand tag along for my six year old daughter which she totally loves riding with me. He listened and understood my priorities, provided sound advice and did a great job on all counts. Really appreciate having such a nice bike shop locally.

This was the worst bike shop I've ever visited. Called in with my girlfriend to ask some general questions about bike frame size. We waited patiently for five minutes while young guy behind the counter ended his phone call. His response to our queries was some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered. He told us 'they don't sell bikes' and so was unwilling to give us even the slightest bit of a help. When we asked politely about it a second time, his response was 'like I already said we don't sell bikes, and I'm very busy.' I told that him that as a cyclist we would have perhaps considered buying from the shop or even having repairs done, but his absolutely arrogant and dismissive attitude meant that would obviously now never happen. I cannot stress this enough, avoid this shop at all costs and do please shop around. There are some really good shops out there with friendly staff who are actually willing to give you some help.

Had a small job of removing a stuck bottom bracket which I had had in a vice and couldn't get it to budge. Dropped the frame off said he would do it the next morning picked it up the next day job done! Friendly, quick and good value will be returning in the future.
