Story

Design & Alter’s tailors and seamstresses provide expert tailoring advice, clothes alterations & invisible mending to London’s finest fashion houses, luxury retailers, private clients and fashion PR teams. We have expertise in dress alterations, restyling, made to measure, bespoke tailoring and dress design.
Established in 1992 by a fine arts graduate with home sewing skills and ambition, Design & Alter (formerly Designer Alterations), has grown from a living room to the leading retail and private specialist clothing alterations studio, not only in London but in the whole of the UK.
