"As a mutual, we’re owned by, and run for, the benefit of our members* – meaning we’re free to reinvest more of our profits into improving products and services. Last year alone, we paid back half a billion pounds to members through better-value current accounts, mortgages and savings accounts. And we plan to do even more. Like investing £500 million into our branches over the next five years.Plus, our ethos is to not only look after our members and their money, but to give back to our wider communities, too. You’ll find us in one of 650+ branches across the UK, where we look forward to saying hello.* You’re a member when you have a current account, mortgage or savings account with us."

Staff are always friendly and ready to help when ever needed. Do be careful when you visit as the Bank can be quite busy sometimes.
Always a queue when i visit. Queue always takes forever to move. There's always staff walking by but never actually helping customers which is annoying. If there's a queue then maybe help the counter staff for 20mins to get rid of the queue and then return to whatever it was you're doing? Seems like basic common sense. Instead there's 1 or 2 staff on the counter and 2,3,4,5 people coming and going through doors into back rooms etc walking right by us as we stand in the queues for 20/30/40 mins. I hardly ever have a reason to visit but on those times that i have no choice i always dread it.
A few years ago I left a one star review following a number a bad experiences at this branch. My recent visit was significantly better mainly down to Dawn who was brilliant. Thank you Dawn great work.
I was enquiring about my sons account at our address but the ‘assistant’ looked on the computer and said he didn’t have an account at our address and kept quoting GDPR at us like we were thick. If she’d have looked properly she would have seen he has two accounts which we didn’t know at the time One for his mums address and one for ours. She was horrible.
Arrived at the Nationwide on Saturday to withdraw £1200 from the counter service. There was a queue to the door when I arrived..But ok it was Saturday...The queue buster lady asked me if i could do my transaction at the machine, but I explained I needed the counter as I required £1200 cash withdrawal, I was then told that the counter staff could only dispense max £500, i said very poor service if I could not withdraw a relatively small amount of cash from a bank, to which the response I got was that "we are a building society". Very poor service, poor customer service, not enough staff serving at the counters, why do they offer a current account if they cannot offer basic services.
Very unhelpful staff, particularly the lady on the front desk who has a bit of an attitude problem! Went there for advice on savings accounts, and was told that no one was available, you couldn't book appointments I was happy to come in another day and you couldn't access advice by phone. Well done Nationwide, I've now moved my savings elsewhere.
I've been a member for over 40 years, and have always had superb service and support over the years. Excellent staff, especially R on the front desk.
Always been happy with the service and that the building society gets good reviews for ethical policies. First visit since the covid restrictions and felt very happy at how the staff were assisting the public.
I have a mortgage with nationwide Which has been quite reasonable but I just wanted to pop in to make an appointment but I had dog with me the snooty women on door said you can't come in with the dog so I had to take dog home and go back I wasn't very pleased
Went to the bank as I lost my card withdrew some money over the counter cancelled my bank card and ordered a new one... Two weeks later my bank card still hadn't come phone up only to be told a new one had never been ordered
