Very sticky menu and a very long time to be served. I expected a much better service from this American diner experience. Food took half an hour to come out after my order was finally placed. Refill coffee, only refilled once after I waved a member of staff to ask. We witnessed another table stand up and walk out because no staff were taking their order. Although the service was incredibly disappointing, the staff themselves were nice and the place looks great. The pancakes were slightly dry and overcooked but apart from that the food was actually okay. Overall, it was certainly nothing amazing for the money paid.
Denny's is a huge US diner chain. This looks and feels like the real deal compared to our experiences in America. So, not to everybody's tastes. Our server Connor was knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. A real asset to this outlet. Food is freshly cooked and can take a few minutes to arrive. We had the two Empire State Stacks at £9.99. That's 170 calories times 10 before unlimited maple syrup. This is free if you can demolish it within 35 minutes. Of course, we failed, but it was fun trying. So, a fantastic and delicious dish; or, disgusting if you are a dainty eater.
Seriously disappointed with this, having loved Denny's in the states I was looking forward to this. American servers are friendly and very chatty, don't expect that here. Food was okay and deserts/pancakes were good. Compared to Denny's in the states it's all a bit over priced in my opinion. Have a look at the chicken nuggets kids meal picture, 4 tiny nuggets some grapes and apple - £5.99, no drink included. Top tip, just go for deserts and pancakes.
Visited Denny's for a late breakfast on a weekday. We were seated within about 8 minutes. Order was taken soon after being seated. We then waited over half an hour for our Grand Slams hence the drop of one star. Staff, though friendly enough, needs better training on dealing with customers, health & safety and cleaning too. See pictures of random chair stuck behind door to the loos, and wrong kind of cleaning cloth with that type of cleaner etc. Simply put Hillington Denny's is not to the standard of America's by any means speaking as someone who grew up going to Denny's at all hours of the day and night. But that all being said, it is a newly opened establishment so will give them some leeway. Bottom line, the food was pretty good overall, so yeah I would, and will, go back for another Grand Slam before too long. Hopefully their service will improve.
1st time visiting this Denny's, been in the states and this didn't disappoint. Seated within 10 mins and drinks order taken straight away. Both mains arrived in good time and were delicious. Huge portions but staff were happy to provide a box to put let overs in. Never ending coffee that just reminded me of America. Waiting staff were very attentive and friendly, especially Kimberly. Would definitely highly recommend.
Friendly service and some good food faithfully recreating Denny’s in the US. It took me back to those pit stops at the restaurant when I have been driving around the US. Good quality food and a reasonable price, however I was surprised there were some things from the normal experience that could have been such as sourdough bread and creamer rather than milk for the coffee.
The wait to get a table was well worth it, as the service was excellent and could not be faulted. The food was even better all cooked perfectly and the taste was excellent. My lumberjack meal had very tasty ham, eggs, toast, sausages and bacon complemented by two delicious fluffy pancakes, heaven on a plate. When we arrived the que was out of the door and we nearly went some where else, I am glad that we stayed as this is one restaurant chain we will keep returning to, well done to all the staff for their hard work.
During my visit all their tablets and order systems had went down causing a delay in food going out. Management was amazing, gave us a complimentary dish while we waited and took an email from all effected to offer vouchers for future visits as an apology. Who we assumed to be the manager think her name was Kelly was fantastic and attentive and all staff were very polite. After being to the diner while in America was soo pleased with the food and service. Loved it
Far from an acceptable experience. My girlfriend and I arrived, we were seated quickly and our order of a french toast slam with a side of toast and an avocado chicken caesar salad taken but then it went wrong. 20mins after our order was taken a server arrived with half of the French toast slam order saying the rest would be with us in a couple of minutes. 5mins later, once the partial meal on our table had cooled the rest arrived. It looked like the eggs had only just made it on to the plate and the salad did not have the extra that had been offered but did have an additional hair. Here is a tip for Denny's, if you can't serve a table of two their meals together then don't and certainly don't bring half of one meal, that's just embarrassing. I won't be back in a hurry that's for sure.
Would give it 0 stars, absolutely hyped up diner. Food took too long to be made, and when it was made, it was sitting under the heated lamps for 10/15 mins. Ordered Moons Over My Hammy and it looked NOTHING like the advertised picture, like AT ALL. Sandwich was dry and greasy over 2 slices of ham. My friend ordered the broccoli and chicken, and again, looked very different in the menu. It came absolutely tasteless - it was literally dry cooked chicken, steamed broccoli and some tasteless sauce over the boiled rice. Could have did it better at home and cheaper too! Staff were all in their late teens/early 20s so probably don't even practice good hygiene. All run by kids in there! One was hanging about behind the counter on his phone texting. And the other staff while plates were under the heated lamps were seen chatting to each other. Couldn't even get a member of staff to take a new beverage order. Would never step foot again in this restaurant.
