Great service from David Spruce. Purchased a pair of Lunar shoes last year which I have only worn on holiday. Unfortunately the elastic on the strap came away. They were happy to try to repair them even though I didn't have a receipt. The repair didn't work so they replaced the shoes at no cost. Could not be happier. Thank you
We have finally been able to pick our daughter's school shoes up from the store after waiting for more than 2 weeks. The sole detaching from the shoe and also cracking on the sole ,all upper leather ok. We were told that was actually normal after only wearing them for a term and should be looking at buying a new pair......... They decided that after the shoes had been assessed that they would oblige by giving us a new pair on this one occasion. We had to phone the store to ask if they had made a decision, our daughter had no school shoes for 2 weeks plus, the staff were very helpful with us, but the shop owner needs to go on a customer care course or take example from staff. We have been loyal customers for a good number of years but from how we have been treated we will be going elsewhere from now on.
We usually buy our school shoes from David Spruce but we came away empty handed today. There seems to be a lack of staff and stock as I struggled to get shoes in my daughter's size. The store also do not stock Clarks any more which is my preferred brand. The assistant was very helpful but we were a bit disappointed.
Thankyou so much. Got sorted with outfit shoes and hand bag for a wedding. Amazing service and good prices
I have been going to David spruce for some time and spent a lot of money. Just recovering from a bunion operation I went into the Bury store lovely lady served me. I was shown a trainer shoe which I liked but found they was too tight. The lady explained it had two insoles, they felt ok After parting with £170.00 I went home to walk the dog in my new shoes .I returned home promptly as I could feel everything under the shoe, stones etcetera, I was in agony. This morning I explained to the lady they wasn't for me she said there was nothing they could do as I had worn them and to go and fined myself new insoles. Where is the customer service. I myself am have my own retail business and we pride ourselves on customer recommendations and satisfaction, this is not the service I wanted to hear. Sorry but I wont be going there again. I did explain to the sales lady about my foot and the trouble I have had with my feet this is why I'm willing to pay that extra obviously they are only after the sale not about comfort and customer satisfaction Mrs Crawford
Hello, I visited the shop for the first time today with my wife. The store had an excellent range of high quality shoes backed up by very courteous and patient service from Cheryl. Unfortunately, the shoes were so good that my wallet was lighter by 3 pairs of shoes at the end of the visit. Rgds all.
As a loyal customer of 3 years, I have been most disappointed with the recent service I have received at your Bury store. I purchased a £47 pair of Start-Rite Princess Serena shoes in April 2015 just before my daughter went back to school for the summer term. Within 3 days of her wearing the shoes, the embellishments had fallen off leaving the shoes looking old and tatty. I went back to your store and was told that they could not replace at that time because they didn't have the size I required in stock. I was told that my daughter could wear the shoes for now whilst they ordered a replacement pair and that then we would do a straight swap which I was happy to accept. After two weeks of no contact I rang the store and was told that the shoes had not been ordered due to staff error and that they would be ordered immediately. Again I was happy with the response and waited patiently for another two weeks during which time I received no contact from the store. When I rang back for a second time I was told that yet again the shoes had not been ordered and now Start-Rite would not be able to complete the order for another 4 weeks. After 4 weeks I contacted the store again and was told that the shoes had not been ordered and I would have to wait another 2 weeks. At this point I had been waiting 8 weeks for a replacement pair of shoes and told the assistant on the phone that as there was only 2 weeks of term left that there was no point in ordering them as she would receive them at the start of the summer holidays and would probably require another size for September. The assistant was apologetic and passed me on to a senior staff member who said that as a goodwill gesture I could have 50% off her next pair of shoes which I graciously accepted. Before ending the call, I reiterated the offer and asked how I would be able to redeem it instore and she assured me that she would make a note on the file for when I came in. I visited the store for a new pair of shoes at the end of August and spoke to a manager named Karen before the fitting to ensure that the 50% offer still stood. Her look of disbelief and subsequent disdainful treatment of me in front of other customers left me shocked and embarassed as at first she refused to even go and check in the office to confirm that I was telling the truth. When eventually she did go and check and grudgingly admitted that I was telling the truth, she did not even apologise for either her behaviour or their mistake. My daughter had her shoes fitted and chose the pair she wanted and we made our way to the till where I was informed that actually even though they would honour the 50% offer that they could not do that without the old pair of shoes which they had neglected to tell me on the phone or before I had the shoes fitted. I subsequently paid for the shoes to ensure that I could have a quick handover when I came to swap them as I would be visiting alone with baby twins and a 7 year old and left the store. 7 days, a 40 mile round trip and another set of parking charges later I returned the old pair of shoes and had to explain the entire situation again to a different assistant who greeted me with the same look of disbelief. After 10 minutes of discussion during which time I had to also attempt to calm my distressed 1 year old twins I finally managed to persuade the assistant to even go and look for the shoes I had already paid for! Needless to say without an adequate apology I will not be returning to your store for any of the shoes my 3 children will require in the future or recommending your service to any of my parent friends or primary teaching colleagues. I honestly expected better service from such a long standing independent shoe shop.
We are here on holiday and I have been looking for shoes for a while. I have very wide feet and shoe shopping is usually a nightmare. The customer service in this shop is amazing. The lady who served me went out of her way to find me a pair of well fitting and attractive shoes. I was very impressed with this shop and would definitely visit again if in the area.
Visited David Spruce last week with the intention of buying some new sandals. Barbara who served me was so patient and helpful, as I took quite awhile to decide. A big thank you to all the staff, who are all so professional and friendly. It's a pleasure to support such a lovely independent shop in Bury,
18 weeks our daughter has warn her £60.00 school shoes. The side of her shoe was coming away from the sole and under the shoe was all cracking. We live 2minutes a walk away from her school and she doesn't were them outer school. I returned them to the store this morning and was told by a member of the staff that the time length was adequate and should be looking to buy new ones, she started to glue down the sides of the shoe while stood at the till ,my husband stepped in explaining we weren't happy ,she then said ok then I'LL send them of to be assessed and that'll be 2weeks wait for you!!!!!,my daughter was in tears with the way she spoke to us and I was so shocked that a company so big would employ such a very rude member of staff. We will now take our custom elsewhere .
