Story

20 Fenchurch Street is a commercial skyscraper in London that takes its name from its address on Fenchurch Street, in the historic City of London financial district. It has been nicknamed 'The walkie-talkie' because of its distinctive shape. Construction was completed in spring 2014, and the top-floor 'sky garden' was opened in January 2015. The 34-storey building is 160m tall, making it the sixth-tallest building in the City of London and the 12th tallest in London.Designed by architect Rafael Viñoly and costing over £200 million, 20 Fenchurch Street features a highly distinctive top-heavy form which appears to burst upward and outward. A large viewing deck, bar and restaurants are included on the top three floors; these are, with restrictions, open to the public. The tower was originally proposed at nearly 200m tall but its design was scaled down after concerns about its visual impact on the nearby St Paul's Cathedral and Tower of London. It was subsequently approved in 2006 with the revised height. Even after the height reduction there were continued concerns from heritage groups about its impact on the surrounding area. The project was consequently the subject of a public inquiry; in 2007 this ruled in the developers' favour and the building was granted full planning permission. In 2015 it was awarded the Carbuncle Cup for the worst new building in the UK in the previous 12 months.OwnershipIn July 2017 the Hong Kong food company Lee Kum Kee Groups agreed to purchase the building from Land Securities and Canary Wharf Group for £1.3 billion.

Have been there few years ago. Beautiful view and really good place to eat. Again, really hope to come back once we will back to normality
First of all the place is beautiful. The food was very good, personally I think its a bit pricy but obviously is due to the views that you will get. The deserts are very nice to be honest. It was worth it, good place to go for a special occasion.
Food is reasonably price for central London. Deliciously fresh and the best views ever!!! Highly recommend, they even brought out a free dessert for my sounds 21st, was a thoughtful act. Thank you Darwin Brasserie.
Great place. Service was excellent, food was good with generous portions. Price is what you'd expect given its location. Restaurant facilities were spotlessly clean. Cannot fault it.
Food was delicious, I'd recommend the garlic, Portobello mushrooms for starters! Made all the more memorable looking out over London as you consume with your eyes and mouth, a sensory explosion. Perfect place for a romantic meal, our meal came to a total of £150, included 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 sides, it was well worth it.
