Damory Veterinary Clinic

About

A Modern Veterinary Practice in the Heart of Dorset

Story

There has been a veterinary surgery at Damory Lodge for over 80 years. In the early 1900’s the veterinary emphasis was on the treatment of horses and farm animals. Indeed an early principal of the practice was Sir Frederick Beckett, a notable master of the Portman Hunt, who retired in 1947.

As pet ownership increased, particularly during the latter part of the 20th Century, the practice developed its hospital facilities for the care of small animals. In 2002 Damory Veterinary Clinic formed three specialised teams to provide optimum care for small animals, horses and farm livestock respectively.

Our three dedicated veterinary teams provide experienced care for small animals (pets), horses and farm animals. Each is supported by our veterinary nursing and support staff so that if your animal requires routine care or emergency treatment we have experience and expertise in each of our veterinary departments. Our team approach to the veterinary care of our patients is aimed at providing our clients with continuity of care and continued professional knowledge directly related to your animal’s needs.

The hospital is permanently staffed and trained veterinary personnel are always available to take your call and advise you, day or night.

Damory cared for my dog Bella through a diagnosis of pancreatitis and diabetes and got her back from near death. First class treatment by experienced and caring staff. I couldn’t be more grateful
Mum and I started using Damory Vets over two years ago. Always a thorough, unhurried and proper consult with all the vets and nurses which includes out of hours, as they have their own hospital on the premises. They are very kind, understanding and very knowledgeable of my ongoing health issues. A well run veterinary practice with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful reception staff too. Thank you for putting up with us. Lady Trixie - Elderly Border Collie
Simba cat who prefers men went for his annual vaccinations and a spot on with a female vet my fault as I forgot to ask for a male vet .nHe started with the usual hissing, then growling and finally boxing !nFair play to lady vet she got him sorted but will remember next time to ask for a male vet.nnWent to Damory with Flick for the first time, and we found out he was male when we thought he was female!nLovely lady, checked him over as had a nasty sore, but he'll be OK, thank you Sarah
Always so very helpful and kind. I Wouldn't take my cats to any other vets unless of course I had no choice. I would recommend highly .I have been taking my cats to Damory since we moved here 13 years ago. The whole staff are just ACE!! THANK YOU.
Good service generally thanks! Your text system to remind us to administer monthly medication however is not really useful as it resets every time one collects more. It needs to be consistent! ie every 28 days.....Collection day is not the administering date.
