Story

I can come to your home or you can come to my small studio in Ringmer. I can teach you how to use the sewing machine you have had for years or I can help you with a dressmaking or textiles project. I am a qualified teacher having taught Design & Textiles at GCSE and A Level and now teach adult courses in dressmaking. I also produce decorative textile items and pieces of art for sale and on a commission basis.



"Dressmaking and textiles tutoring in and around Ringmer, East Sussex. I run courses, workshops, after school clubs and one to one tuition for all sewers of all abilities. I have a small studio in Ringmer and run classes from a number of other venues in the area. I don't carry out alterations."

My daughter and her friends and I! had a lovely afternoon at her sewing party in Sarah's gorgeous studio. From a parent's point of view, it was definitely the most relaxing party she's had! They had lots of fun working on their projects and Sarah made sure they had all the guidance they needed. My daughter has also attended one of Sarah's holiday workshops and loved it - we will definitely book again in future.
A really lovely bench cushion. I just gave Sarah the foam and fabric and she did a fantastic job, even adding a few napkins made with the leftover fabric. Highly recommend. The cat likes it too!
Sarah is great! I have enjoyed her classes and learnt new skills and techniques. She has also been such a wonderful inspiration for my autistic daughter who has found her a patient and encouraging mentor for her developing sewing and creative skills. Sarah has a combination of warm friendliness, approachability and a great knowledge and love of textiles which make her a really great teacher and group leader. I can't recommend her highly enough!
My daughter has done lots of Sarah's holiday workshops, has really enjoyed them and has bought home some lovely things. The pace is as gentle as it needs to be and Sarah is very patient - I'd definitely recommend Daisy Sew.
Sarah is a wonderful teacher. My daughter has been going to her classes for several terms and returns with the most incredible hand made treasures. Sarah has given her some amazing skills and nurtured a real love of sewing in her !
Sarah is such a good sewing teacher - she always appears calm and is very patient. It is always very enjoyable attending Sarah's classes or workshops which are just the right pace. Highly recommend.
I asked Sarah to give me a couple of lessons to help me reacquaint myself with my sewing machine and she was fabulous. I've been coming to Sarah's classes for a few years now and it's the highlight of my week. I started out making simple cushions and now I'm tackling vintage dress patterns. Nothing is too much trouble for Sarah and she's always there if you get a bit stuck! I thoroughly recommend her classes.
My daughter has attended a number of Sarah's school holiday sewing clubs. She has thoroughly enjoyed each one and always comes away with something lovely and useful. I would highly recommend.
