"Darcy Clothing Ltd supplies accurate replicas of historical men's clothing from C16th to 1950s. We use original patterns and custom woven fabrics for maximum authenticity. All items are kept in stock for immediate dispatch. We now sell all over the world to everyone from sheep farmers in Wales needing sturdy braces to Hollywood stars playing pirates. Everyone receives the same service whereby we aim to dispatch orders the same day providing the items are in stock. We are now only open to the public by appointment. I recently ordered a number of white tie accessories from their website and I must say the quality is astounding. The material feels very sturdy yet is pleasant to wear and the items all follow the traditional white tie dress code very closely single cuffed shirt with adequate holes for dress studs: that sort of thing. Though Darcy Clothing isn't cheap, their level of craftsmanship is indeed very high. -Greetings
I have been a customer with Darcy for almost 4 years and have always been impressed with the quality and longevity of their shirts in particular. This company is doing an excellent job at preserving the standards of classic menswear!
I ordered 2 pairs of trousers from Darcy online after visiting their Lewes shop which is gorgeous. I'm a small size and was thrilled to find that they make a size 26in waist in the trousers. They are a perfect fit! Fantastic quality and I would say good value for money for what you get. Delivery was extremely quick and efficient. I love them and can't wait to wear them out and about. Thanks Darcy and can't wait for my next purchase.
Over the past two years, Darcy has overhauled my wardrobe. Here in the States, there's seldom any makers of good quality, turn-of-the-century clothing that's not either of costume-quality or radically expensive. I finally have several outfits and uniforms ranging from casual to formal that look authentic, fit wonderfully, and make me feel confident everyday. Best part is that I rarely have to wait over a week for international shipping, and they're very prompt at getting orders out. I have nothing but the highest praise for Darcy and their clothing!
Have just received the Washed Cotton Drill Work Jacket JA10. Perfect fit, high quality material and finish, at a very good price. And delivered less than 48 hours after I ordered it.
The clothes are excellent: well-made, reasonably priced, and the sizing is accurate. What is less pleasing, though, is the postage costs. I spent over £330 , and for a not especially heavy package the postage is £24. That's a lot when compared to a lot of other companies, and I'm not including large ones who will have discounted carriage rates. It's a pity, as ultimately I'll order less.
I'm not from Lewes, traveled here to get an outfit for a party. Checked opening times on Google and their website, both state they're open today 10:00-17:00. When I got there at 11:00 there was a sign outside saying they're closed for the day but to ring them and someone will come and open it from a different location. Called the number and the person said they're busy and can't open it. Although I can't speak of the quality of the clothes or customer service other than the lying poster it's fair to say it was a disappointment.
I work with Jump the Gun in Brighton and reccomend Darcys regularly for meeting customers requests that are out of our range. Many years and you have a different location since I last visited. Came in to look at the quality of your spearpoint. Excellent quality. Oh..and I took a couple of suits while I was there. Great service and terrific layout. Many thanks...David
Totally fantastic quality. Yes, they are quite expensive but it is well worth the little bit extra. Purchase of linen trousers, braces and shirt, the service was brilliant. Even though it was the Christmas period delivery took less than 3 days. This was my first purchase from Darcy an di was not sure what to expect, I was amazed by the very high standard finish and the fantastic quality of the materials. If I could afford it I would never buy from any other supplier.
Have had a great experience with Darcy Clothing - was bought a beautiful Cotton Drill Jacket by my wife think she wants me to look more like Monty Don! but it was just slightly too big. Really great jacket and when I asked Darcy to replace it with a smaller size they couldn't have been more helpful. Just got it back today and it is perfect - customer service is brilliant as are the clothes - couldn't recommend them enough.
