I live in Portavogie. On Saturday 25th January 2014, I left home to travel to Newtownards. On arriving at Ballyhalbert I discovered that the road ahead, to Ballywalter, was under repair. I was diverted to Kircubbin. When I arrived at Kircubbin I discovered that there were road repairs being carried out in Greyabbey and I was diverted to Ballywalter. As everybody knows, who live anywhere in the area, that the road from Ballywalter to Millisle was washed into the sea and there is a diversion in place. I would personally like to meet the numpty who decided to divert the residents of the peninsula from one coast to the other, at a mere whim. Due to the weather conditions, I am sure that there was nobody working at those roadworks. Updated 21/2/2014 Someone gave my wife a press clipping (photo) showing the damage to the road, just north of Ballyhalbert. The closure of the road was totally justified and I apologise for my tantrum. I am on a state pension and I am trying to conserve my funds as best as possible. Travelling backwards and forwards across the peninsula was not my idea of a money saving exercise. Hence the bad temper. Again, my apologies for getting out of my pram. Geoff Scott.
