Great castle. Based within fantastic grounds with amazing woodland walks. There is a lovely lake, ideal for walks. There is a popular park which also has a splash park in the summer. The miniature railway is a must. My kids love it. Popular location for all at any time of the year. Would highly recommend.

Went here on May bank holiday, weather was glorious and my seven year old enjoyed the splash park and playground. Plenty of grass to sit on and have a picnic. We didn't go in the museum as the weather was so nice but the grounds the castle is set in is beautiful.
