This Vietnamese is good but nothing spectacular. Some menu items are stand out amazing eg you must try the vegetarian spring rolls. But our main of mixed vegetables with garlic was extremely bland. That said portions of rice were generous and this is now the only Vietnamese on the Kingsland road which doesn't charge corkage. Fine if you want a budget meal with a big group but nothing special.
How this only be the 2nd review of this place? It is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Don't believe me? --> Try the fish : Fresh food, delicious tastes, very good presentation, super friendly staff who really will go above and beyond to accommodate diners' requests and it is BYOB with a supermarket and/or corner shops nearby. My go-to place for Vietnamese in London. Am going back this Friday for the 4th time.
BYOB but that is where the positives end. Free prawn crackers were stale. Spring rolls were bland and didn't taste that fresh. Bun hue do bien spicy seafood was bland. The morning glory with garlic came as a 50/50 mix of bean sprouts and morning glory. For the same price next door, you get a dish full of morning glory more expensive. Won't be returning.
The food was so tasty, looking good in the outside and not so expensive big dish for 7,50. The staff was really helpful even though we came with many questions and ideas. They had a real selection of dishes as we show them pictures from websites. Recommended
