Visited here on the off chance, Front of house guy was very rude because we hadn't booked and made us feel unwelcome, another chap who was probably the landlord snapped at him to give us table 9. We were seated and eventually asked if we wanted a drink.. We noticed that NO other people were asked if they had booked and were ALL seated immediately with no problem. And restaurant was still half empty when we left, so not sure what his problem was ! Food ordered and arrived fairly quickly, decent portions and nicely cooked. Waitress seemed to have limited vocabulary. Desserts were nice, although again waiter (same front of house guy)was rude and seemed to really not like us! Nicest guy was a larger dark haired guy who was polite and nice when he cleared our desserts away. Were not asked if we wanted another drink at all. Won't bother going back.. In house training wouldn't go amiss on some of the staff.

First time visitor. Great decor, not too busy or noisy (not many little people when we were there!!). Had Sunday pork roast today, best piece of crackling for a long time, veg warm, stuffing very dry and Yorkshire pudding like rubber (think Yorkie and stuffing were made the day before!!) Staff very pleasant.

Overall a good Sunday lunch. Good service and lovely venue. Beef was a little tough but would not stop me from dropping in again when I am in the area 😊

Better than average country pub with good food and loads of atmosphere. Proprieter and spouse are delightful, - great banter. Well worth the 5 min walk from the soulless Wyboston Lakes across the road.

Awful awful service and food, you can hear the staff playing music and messing about in the kitchens whilst you eat, the food was inedible and we left without paying, as did 3 other tables whilst we were there, it’s such a shame as they’ve really made an effort doing the place up. Lovely place to have a drink but avoid the food at all cost.
