Lovely country pub, nice big garden and a decent menu. Recently re-opened under new management and although I've been in for drinks a few times, I haven't yet had a meal. I did opt for a cheese board on their opening night and it was lovely but could have done with more cheese to be fair, I'd always want more cheese!!. A good selection of beers and wines and the staff are all fabulous!
Excellent food we went for Sunday lunch apart from the baked rice pudding which was a bit dry, and the chocolate on top of it was a strange addition. The service was a little slow, and when we arrived there were not that many tables taken, so we were surprised our first course took so long to arrive. Having been in the catering trade, I know the value of staff who keep half an eye on all their tables, even when they are serving a different table, and they weren't good at this, which contributed to the slower speed of service.
Once again, the pub- restaurant has a new owner, and I love what they have done to the place. Lovely cozy ambiance. Good food, polite... and fast service. A little too fast, actually. Our entire 3 course planned dinner took probably about an hour. We felt rushed. After we had finished with our mains and requested the dessert menu, it seems the chef had told the young new waitress to inform us that the kitchen had closed for the night. This was 8:25pm on a Friday night. So we didn't get out dessert. There was nothing left but to pay and leave. The whole eating out and relaxing experience wasn't there. Not sure it's a place you want to be booking for dinner; maybe day time meals? The bar's efficient, though. I would still recommend.
Amazing food. I had the red Thai curry and the dark chocolate brownie. Beautiful! My husband had the billet burger and pavlova and he said it was sooo good too! We'll be back when we are that way again
Beautiful lunch in lovely relaxed country village pub. A station for your four legged friends to have a drink in the beer garden. Complementary refurbishment to the age and local of the pub, with a fair sized off road parking. Will definitely return!
Perfect service from the staff. Everything is well priced. Portion size is great. Friendly atmosphere. A must go to place for all!
Really quiet today but generally a nice pub. Good range of draught including some cask options. Outside area wasn't any use today because of the fab British spring but will come back during the summer. Staff were friendly too.
Good food. Liked the menu. Only had mains but they were very good. Was very busy for before 7pm on a Friday night, and they could probably have done with a few more staff as service was slightly slower than we would have liked. Not to any extent that detracted from the food though. Will return.
Lovely pub! I went on a first date here last night and I had a very nice time! The food was great, i'm vegan and my date eats meat but ordered a vegetarian meal I had the cauliflower steak and he had the bean burger we both thought each meal was lovely and well presented. Great atmosphere, very cute staff were friendly and helpful too! Just wish they had vegan desserts! I would have loved to see vegan sticky toffee pudding on the menu
We had a delicious lunch this afternoon .the food arrived promptly and hot. The bar staff were brilliant and the waiting staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The food was cooked to perfection and the menu had lots of choices, it was also exceptional value for money. If you've been before and were disappointed! Don't give up on the billet! Give the pub another chance and you won't regret it. We can't wait to return and experience the good food and ambience they offer...
