Story

Standing in over 30 acres of peaceful, secluded grounds on the edge of the Cotswolds, the privately-owned Cricklade House offers a classic country haven for those in search of tranquillity, comfort, excellent food and wine, with extensive recreational facilities.

This beautiful country house, built at the turn of the last century, has been tastefully restored and carefully extended. Perhaps the most impressive addition is the magnificent Victorian-style glass conservatory which runs the full length of the original building, making the most of the hotel's elevated position, with wonderful panoramic views over Wiltshire countryside.

We stayed for a 40th Birthday Celebration, merging two families was never easy. We have twins so needed two cots and the other party needed two Twin Beds aswell as a double. All accommodated.nnFrom the moment we checked in to the moment we left, nothing could be faulted quite frankly. Such a rarity these days.nnReception staff were amazing, room team had prepared our Cots as requested without prompt.nnParking was easy and hotel located really well for exploring locally.nnA last minute addition to the trip was having an evening meal, we are always sceptical of hotel food as it’s often overpriced and not great quality. Whilst pricing wasn’t cheap, the convenience and then the quality more than made this good value. Food was excellent quality and choice I’m a coeliac so never easy Waiting staff absolutely smashed it out the park, Thankyou Morgan.nnSwimming pool was just what we were after and the breakfast to exit was simple but lots of choice and excellent value.nnBig well done team, for us you nailed it.
He spent a long weekend in the Cotswold and this hotel had a fantastic location. As well as great facilities like the pool and sauna to come back to after a long day exploring. Extremely quiet and the room was amazingly big! We will come back for another getaway for sure.
Excellent venue for a peaceful relaxing break. The rooms are beautiful clean and fresh. The spa is well kept and quiet. Having breakfast included in the price was excellent value for money. Drinks are expensive however. Been three times now and each occasion has been perfect.
Fabulous weekend spent at the hotel and spa with friends 4 couples getting together.nThe rooms in the courtyard area are HUGE a d everything you could wish for is included, even complimentary access to the hotel's spa.nThe food was superb generous portions also, however what really made the weekend special for us was the service received from the staff. They were outstanding, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention must go to Lewis and Hana - both are a real credit to the hotel. Thank you guys!
Absolutely awesome place. Amazing friendly staff, lovely comfortable rooms, great food, stunning views. Breakfast was great. There was only two members of staff on breakfast and they worked their socks off to meet everyone's requests and get breakfast out. They deserve great praise as they did such a great job. We will 100% be visiting there again. The whole experience was wonderful and we felt very relaxed when we left. Thank you so much to all the staff for a wonderful night
