My experience was very good. Never felt uncomfortable here at all. Nurses were lovely and the surgeon that examined me was awsome, very clear in his explanation. I was disappointed in the people parking in the hospital car park they were not going to the hospital they were going out for the day on a bus, about 60 of them, very selfish.
Parts of this hospital are the second oldest NHS estates in Wales and it shows. Too many services have been withdrawn including GP out of hours, minor injuries and the stroke unit. Temporary accomodation was placed here during the second world war and is still in use.
Very good mental health unit. Clean and bright with brilliant caring staff. Looking after me so well, couldn't ask for anything more. I feel very safe and cared for.
Brought my partner to see a specialist here. The car parks & access roads are not adequate for the amount of traffic using them. We have a VW Transporter and it was a tight squeeze negotiating the narrow roads and there were no spaces anywhere so I had to drop him off and wait for him out on the main road. I know this isn’t the fault of hospital staff but maybe the appointment letters could mention that parking is very limited and not suitable for larger vehicles?
The Chronic Pain Management Clinic staff are super friendly and my life quality changed a lots after starting to receive the proper treatments. I appreciate a lots what the nurses are doing from me. Thank you for all :
Nice quiet hospital more like a huge doctor surgery now faster specialists seeing you get Xray bloods etc here but it's not an A&E majors is the Grange hospital then and minors wpuld be the Royal Gwent hospital
Terrible! The X-Ray department are rude, aggressive and nasty. They speak to patients like they are dirt! Four separate occasions I've been there and everytime I've been treated incredibly bad. Three times by the same vicious blonde lady. They have no care or respect for the patients and even when you ring they are rude and aggressive in their manner. I literally just got off the phone to the X-ray department regarding and ultrasound I'm booked in for and the lady was so rude I got off the phone and burst into tears I've had a really bad month and the last thing I need is to be treated badly by a stranger for no reason. I live right next to the hospital yet I've decided to cancel my appointment and make a new one at the next nearest hospital which is 15 miles away just to avoid being treated badly by their x-ray staff again. This hospital really needs to be reviewed by the health board they shouldn't be allowed to treat patients the way they do! Disgusting!
The plethora of signs for the multitude of departments are impossible to read and when driving the ability to read all the signage is impossible. When and if you can find a parking space, the actual departments are well hidden with no overall site map for patients to follow easily.
Great 'cottage' hospital most of it built during war times. Very friendly staff. Parking can be an issue. Now contains one of the best mental health units in the borough called Talygarn. Easy to get to.
