What a lovely railway station. Absolutely worth getting off here and walking up the hill to Liskeard through the beautiful Cornish countryside. Although Combe Junction Halt used to be one of the least used railway stations in Great Britain, but now it is a thriving metropolis with more than 150 passengers per year! It would make more sense for the points at the junction to be moved closer to the halt, to enable more than two stops per day though please take note GWR.
Never being here, I have some questions. Is there any services to Bristol from here? Is there a car park here? Thanks for reading it would be appreciated to know the answers to these questions and to travel here sometime. Also is there any Eurostar services to Amsterdam from here? I have friends in Amsterdam and it would be appreciated for us to go on holiday to this beautiful place together. Locals say this is the most quiet place in Cornwall which would be amazing for us to stay.
Cute trainstation on the liskeard to looe line Beautiful scenery.
Just a tiny platform in the middle of nowhere. Cornwalls least used station. Only 2 trains stop here a day as the rest reverse further down
Coombe Junction Halt is a Looe Valley Line station. This is the least used station in Cornwall as there are only 2-3 trains per day and no Sunday service. Most trains will stop just before the station and reverse on to the other track. In the 2018/19 statistics, there were only roughly around 0-1 passengers a day! it is one of the only two Station in the UK on national rail to have the designation ‘Halt’. This is not a request stop but not all trains stop here. Do not be fooled by the track continuing north of the station, that is for freight services only and not for passengers. But do take a visit to see the least used station in Cornwall!
The distance by road between Liskeard station and Combe Junction is little more than half a mile. The train journey is far longer because it follows a steep curve to double back on itself, passing under the main line viaduct in the process. Of interest to any train buff.
My favourite station in cornwall. Really enjoy coming here and enjoying the peace and catching the occasional train from here.
Lovely quaint little station . Not many amenities at all but nice an peaceful nonetheless
Always quiet, atmospheric walk along the old railway halt
I saw this Junction is in movie "Chronicles of Narnia "
