Story

Victor & Carina Contini are owners of three award-winning restaurants located in the heart of Edinburgh. Contini George Street located at 103 George Street (formerly Centotre) is a popular Italian restaurant set in the busy shopping and dining district of George Street. Serving simple, beautifully prepared Italian dishes made with the freshest ingredients, Contini Ristorante is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant located in the Scottish National Gallery on the Mound serves locally sourced, sustainably produced food with a menu that showcases the best artisan produce from around Scotland. Open for breakfast, lunch and late afternoon teas The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant is also available for exclusive evening events. Contini Espresso is the Contini's cafe located in the Garden entrance to the Scottish National Gallery. It serves coffees, teas, a selection of fresh sandwiches and homemade cakes.
And finally our newest venue - Cannonball House, located on the Royal Mile. Cannonball Restaurant & Bar showcases the best of Scottish produce with fantastic views of the Edinburgh skyline and castle.
On the ground floor we have a fantastic whisky bar with over 120 Scotch whiskies and on the lower floor we have our exclusive Glengoyne Private Dining room available for parties of 15 to 40 guests. We hope to see you soon.

A nice date, much anticipated, however ultimately left disappointed. The dishes were not worth the price. I was a little underwhelmed. The venue was nice inside and most of the staff were friendly. But yeah, unfortunately just really disappointed in the food. The tiramisu barely tasted of anything. I tried my partners Gnocchi in tomato sauce, I thought that was bound to be a winner, and they even managed to make that pretty boring and tasteless. A real shame. Also was told the pints of beer were pints. They were definitely not pints, more like 330ml. For £6 that’s quite bad.
Beautiful restaurant. Food is okay, on the pricey end. Service was so/so. Couldn’t get the attention of the staff, drink refills never came. Food came out extremely fast which we appreciated and overall left us feeling like we were at a Cheesecake Factory with the speed of the service and rapid turnover rates.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Not one of the tourist traps of restaurants. True Italian food of the best quality. Staff is amazing and check in frequently. Food is very, very good. Environment is exceptional.
The staff were attentive, the food was good, but the chocolate Negroni was FANTASTIC- will be by again to try a few others on the menu!
We've been to this restaurant many times in the past years but this is a whole new experience. Drinks were excellent but the rest was a real disappointment. First we ordered fish which came bland and bitter. Usually I don't send the food back but it was inedible. It was then replaced with another meal of our at our request, but turned out just as bad. We received no apology, no complimentary drink or snack. NOTHING. We were charged the full amount including service charge. It's a real shame because the venue is beautiful and the prices are not low. But the owners should really reconsider their staff training in terms of food quality and service. Not sure we will be back until the change of management. Verdict - don't waste your time and money.

Wonderful experience at this place. Really friendly staff and food was delicious. I unfortunately didn't have space left for dessert after a starter and a main. Portions are nice and the cocktails are very good definitely recommend the mojito!. Worth it!
Fantastic. Great front of house staff who accommodated and earlier seating time and the food was outstanding. And what better than learning Italian while you use the toilet?
Wow! This Italian restaurant is amazing! Very nice ambiance, the staff are friendly and attentive and the FOODS are..oh my outstanding!...I came here with my friends and one of them is Italian and he gave a score 10/10 so worth every penny and will definitely come back here again. I highly recommend to book a table to make sure you get a seat Starter = Focaccia bread Main = Lobster Ravioli Dessert = Panacotta
From an Italian guy.. really well done! Lovely presentation and attention to details. The starter was delicious. We were 8 and we tried more than one thing.. it was all perfect.. all so good!!!! Great service and cleanliness .. thanks guys
