Posting for my mother’s behalf Josephine Walden ; my mother was so pleased in A&E. Sam the nurse was delightful and l don’t know her surname, but she was going on annual leave after bandaging my finger; she is going to Thailand celebrate 25th wedding anniversary. Also the receptionist but l did not get her name, but very kind and so helpful. Thank you.
I spent my day on Gardner Ward at the Conquest Hospital for a knee arthroscopy. All of the staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly and caring. I just want to thank them all for looking after me today 04/11/22 especially Mitch and Anni. Thank you all
Lovely staff on Gardner ward . Excellent care except for 1 memeber of staff who not being horrible and was a lovely person but should of been retired. Didn't seem to know what they were doing. Constantly asked same questions then when given reply asked again and again and still didn't get an answer. Gave up in the end
There new phone system is rubbish, not just conquest hospital, tried Brighton too, put in extension numbers, it just cuts off, even if transferred to the operator, no one there and cuts off, just wanted to let them know can't make appointment as feel off. Filled in form on website. Nothing beats speaking to someone, why change it if not broken and how much did this system cost the tax payer especially if not working properly.
I had been told by my doctor some months back to go to A and E , I had been unwell and had high heart rate and blood pressure . I was made to feel very uncomfortable by the people I was told would look after me I understand they are busy but to be so rude within ear shot is not great . I will never go again it was not my choice but my GPS ,yes I did walk in as Dr told my son he had to take me . Thankfully other departments at the hospital have been wonderful and my problem is being sorted out . But please if someone is sent to the hospital by the gp try to be kind they did not ask to be there, your problem should be with the Dr's. Today I here from my sister who was sent by her gp ,only to be told the same thing she is so upset by her experience. I can say unless I am on the way out I will never go back there I would rather suffer in silence.
Big thank you to all the staff at conquest endoscopy department. I had my procedure done today and was so nervous, the staff reassured me every step of the way and I can honestly say I was in no discomfort and didn’t feel a thing at any stage the staff were amazing thank you all for all you do
I suffered a trauma injury to my hip after a slip on the ice. My thanks and gratitude go to all the staff on Egerton ward, the surgeons and physio and OT support!
I was strongly advised by 111/out-of-hours GP to go the nearest A&E as I had been having persistent chest pain. I did, and I had to wait for 7 hours to be seen by a doctor who informed me that I had costochondritis which she kindly wrote down as 'costal chondritis' for me to check out later as per my request and that there was nothing wrong with my heart. I was, and am, indeed very grateful for the good news, and, overall, it was impossible not to see how hardworking and perseverant all the A&E staff were, and how utterly challenging it must be to work in that very intense and exhausting environment. Having said that, there must surely be a way of checking the test results my results had arrived and were accessible on the system in 3 hours or so after the check-in and ascertaining, on the basis of the results, the severity of the situation, and, if there is no need to actually see them, referring patients back to their GP without having to keep them in a suffocating room for another 4 hours! Besides, it is pointless, if not offensive, to announce to the patients that the waiting time is 'approximately 6 hours' AFTER they have already waited for 6 hours, which is exactly what happened to me. As a side note, the vending machines at a HOSPITAL could really offer something healthier, at least more innocuous, than chocolate and pasty!, especially if the approximate waiting time is 6 hours and all the shops around are closed. I know I am stating the blatantly obvious, but this hospital and of course NHS itself in its entirety! needs more funding, more doctors, better infrastructure, and better management. Thanks, nevertheless, to all the A&E staff for hanging in there.
