A quaint pub in the sticks north of Minworth. Ample parking. Good service overall and was friendly. Excellent food. No issues and would recommend and revisit. The restaurant was decorated very nice. The mains and dessert were nice and the quantity was enough. The desserts could have been served warmer. When we got the bill, we were given another tables bill, which was corrected after. Overall I would rate this experience a 8.5 out of 10.
Great service and food! Had a lovely birthday meal here and the Lotus biscoff chocolate bomb was out of this world
We absolutely love this place and have been locals for years. However, over the past few weeks we have noticed a significant decrease of staff on the ground and as a result, slower service than usual. We can see that the staff are trying their best but as a result of POOR MANAGEMENT we feel as though the potential and offering this amazing restaurant has, has decreased significantly. Disappointing as we’ve experienced amazing service for years now, not sure what has changed but definitely noticeable. As usual, the food was amazing and the staff available were so lovely.
Lovely period building and surroundings with rustic interior. Given the beautiful countryside, I was surprised there wasn't a larger beer garden. The food was of good quality but the staff clearly needed more training, confusing themselves with our drinks order. Due to the limited outdoor space and limited nearby facilities, I'm wouldn't recommend for very young children. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces, car park is almost the same size as the venue.
Classic, elevated pub food in the cutest, most cozy countryside pub. I had the maple pork belly with scallops and it was beyond succulent.
All 4 of us had the traditional turkey meal for our Christmas dinner and was PERFECT, the turkey breast was juicy and cooked to perfection, the carrots and parsnips with perfect sweetness and the roast potatoes seasoned beautifully. We been asked if we would like more vegetables and gravy and we did. How can we refuse? Perfect dinner!!! So well done!
Such a wonderful visit, again. Should have taken the waitress's details as she is a keeper for your establishment. All the staff were enjoying their work and the atmosphere was like being served at a family event ie Wedding. Will be booking again next year and will also be coming over for Sunday dinner very soon. All the best for the rest of the festive season and good luck for 2023!! Vegetarian options: good options on menu
Decided to come here with my family for a Sunday roast after reading good reviews. The staff managed to squeeze us in at short notice in the bar service area as the restaurant was full. The roast dinners were cold and had to be sent back to be warmed up. Furthermore, the gravy came out a good 10 minutes after the dinners. My gran could not eat her beef as it was not cooked enough. The portion was a really decent size but it was disappointing that the meals were not warm and came out at all different times. There were also many flies by our table. The fish and chips was a great portion which my Grampa really enjoyed
Beautiful food and exceptional service. Felt really welcomed, the girls serving were happy and friendly, brilliant sense of humour, great customer skills. Food was superb, chef recommendation absolutely delicious. Will come back very soon.
Came here on a Wednesday at 8:30. Plenty of tables available and we were about to be seated when the manager Daniela comes running over and tells the waitress who is seating us we can’t have a table. We ask why and she says the kitchen is closed. I asked what time does the kitchen normally close and she says 9. I said it’s 8:30. She the said that they had to serve other tables and our order wouldn’t make it it in until after 9. The place was half empty. Never heard such nonsense. Awful manager. I would recommend trying much better local restaurants like the Fig and olive and the Four Oaks which both serve much better food in a far superior environment.
