Beautiful, well stocked farm shop with ample parking space. Sells Fresh produce, cheese, poultry, fruits and veg, pickles, chutney and many more. Very friendly staff. Facilities are well kept. It’s got ample parking slots. The prices seem to be slightly on the higher side compares to local shops.
We had a lovely afternoon lunch in the cafe after a cold start to the day. The atmosphere was cosy and made us feel relax and gave us time to rewind and enjoy our mother and son time together before another start to a busy week.  We both had a burger from the menu which wasn't easy to choose from as there is so many yummy options to go for! My ten year old sent his positive feedback to the chef saying 'that his burger was the best he has ever had!!'  Well that means I need to up my game!! We couldn't  leave cobbs without having a naughty treat so we both ordered a chocolate fudge brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream. As a chocoholic this certainly did feed my fix, it was amazing!! The staff was very friendly, chatty and made us feel welcome. They check on us regularly which is nice to see that their good service is carried out all the way through from the time we stepped into the cafe till the time we left. It is very rare nowadays to see this at some places.  Thank you cobbs for having us!!
Cobbs farm shop is perfect for breakfast/brunch/lunch & a mooch around the butchers, florist, deli, and everything else that they have. I last visited on yesterday, where I had the Mexican Breakfast which is on the all-day brunch menu. It was delicious. So much so I forgot to take a photo before I started. Cobbs is always clean and tidy and the staff are super friendly and polite. The prices are reasonable for the quality of what you’re getting.
I am a regular visitor to Cobbs. The produce they sell is a high standard. Fresh seasonal vegetables and Fruits. A nice diverse range of preserves. The cheese and pastry counter never fails. The pies are lovely. The meat counter is always a bonus, their steaks are just amazing!! The staff are friendly and helpful. As they are in the cafè also. One of, if not the best farm shop I've been in. The cafés kitchen, I must say, puts out a very high standard of food.
Popped into the cafe with my two young sons for a drink and a piece of cake and was horrified at how slow the service was. We had to ‘catch’ a member of staff so we could order after waiting quite some time as they kept walking past our table and ignoring we were there. Once we eventually ordered we waited for half an hour for three simple drinks one tea and two flavoured milks and two slices of cake! Ridiculous length of time to serve a simple order. We weren’t the only table having these type of problems either as others were also seemingly ignored once sat at their table and half their order forgotten about. I will not be repeating this experience again!
We visited and bought some nice seasonal produce and pies but left disappointed with the attitude and service of the staff. The cafe had plenty of staff but none of them came to take our order and the service was incredibly slow. Then when waiting in line at the deli counter, a young staff member came behind the counter to serve and proceeded to ignore the queue and serve a friend who had joined the back of the line. Unbelievably bad service!! She didn’t even seem to think there was anything wrong with this. Don’t bother with this place unless they start hiring people that actually care.
Farm shop is ok. Well stocked with a variety of things..... the cafe not so much, the staff were lovely and accommodating but the cake was stale and nothing special. Which is a shame as it could've been much better. We won't be returning.
The play barn is a great space for kids but the service is off the scale shambolic. Dirty counter and half hearted, disinterested service with the pricing thats just mismatched for the quality of service and food. Tariffs in the shop/cafe are the same but 100x better service to the table and with a smile - Playbarn Cafe needs to be reviewed...or bring your own refreshments!
In the past I have given a 5 star rating but today they let us down. We were some of the first people in and we ordered our food but the tomatoes, mushrooms and sausages were cold, ok maybe not cold but luke warm. I can if we had been later and they had been standing for a while but not first thing, and it does not take long to warm them in a pan or keep them under a lamp even. We will more than likely have another breakfast and pray it was a one off and be able to give my normal 5 star review.
Part of our ethos as house sitters at Running Duck Pet Services is slow food & slow travel. So we were delighted to find Cobbs just up the road and with a huge selection of fresh produce. Lots of veggies and fruit. We also stocked up on meat and the whole chicken was delish. Of course no point in going to a farm shop and not getting a ginger loaf which makes our house-sitting adventures feel like an Enid Blyton story.
