A pleasant experience with this Co-op. Well stocked even for 7:30pm on a Saturday. Good dates on food and discounts on those near use by dates the french baguette for 25p!. Training for staff is sufficient as experienced this monitoring first hand at the checkout each member of staff greeted customers with a smile and were accommodating whilst restoring shelves and checking items. Lovely use of doored refrigeration and the fresh bread in contained drawers. Overall lovely and convenient.
Got most things we needed. A good variety but just a little expensive. If you're a COOP member, they normally send you the offers once you've done the fully weekly shop.
Terrible place expensive and everything goes out of date the next day but the co op still charges the earth for these food products. The staff are lovely though and can’t fault them .
Very solid offering now following expansion and refurb. For the size of town and supermarket the plant based section here is especially strong with a wide range of vegan chocolate options that’d normally only be found in much larger stores.
Went to this store to stock up for a weeks supplies for our self catering holiday. There was little choice in the chill fresh cabinets and no staff at the till, self serve is cramped and slow! Recommend Budgens which was fully stocked, had plenty of choice and was fully staffed.
Swanage is SCREAMING out for a good, 'normally' priced supermarket, and unfortunately, this is the closest thing to it - it's pricey, has regularly empty shelves despite a huge refit a year or two ago, and there's only 2 other two choices in the area - cost cutters who stock co-op produce and Budgens, I think owned by the same parent company as co-op, who all just seem to be out of step with what a local shop needs to be - yes it's locally positioned, but it's not a local shop - there a definite monopoly going on here! The staff are mostly good, so that's what the 2 stars are for. When will people wake up and realise we're over a barrel here? They are, in my opinion, ripping off local residents who have no other choice. Come on Tesco, Morrison, LIDL/ALDI etc.. where are you? Having to pay for parking to go and spend money is ludicrous, too!
Seemed a good well sized Coop with most basics you would want plus more.
Despite being located in a tourism hotspot they don't seem to cope with demand. Visited twice, on different days at different times of the day and the choice of bread and meat on both occasions was ridiculously limited / non-existent. Should be better.
A nicely sized supermarket... Not too big but also with a fairly decent selection. My only real issue is some of the till staff scan so slowly I almost offered to do it myself... Not sure whether this is intentional or just ineptitude! Car park usually has lots of spaces in it so easily accessible. The measures for corona seem sufficient, as you'd expect from a chain supermarket.
Good parking. Not cheapest supermarket, but good offering generally. Definitely best choice for lunch time meal deal. For incidental shopping good, would not want to have to pay their prices for full shopping list. Staff pleasant.
