Had everything needed for short self catering stay, strange system to get a bottle of wine, as all alcoholic drinks are under lock and key. You have to press a buzzer and wait some considerable time and then be escorted to check out! BIZARRE
Went in Swanage coop for something to eat aboard the Swanage railway, but ginsters slices was £2.75 can get one at home bargains for £1 & it's not worth that, ginsters pies are not as good as they were in the 1980s & a lot smaller, pack of 4 Cadbury ice lollies were a fiver thats ice-cream van prices, this is a large coop not a small local one, so wouldn't purchase anything at those sort of prices, even if I had a hundred pounds!!! In the bank I wouldn't, if no one went in coop they would soon bring the prices down, they charge what they can get away with
descusting service sky high prices dont know how they get away with it ,roll on when they open a lidl store hopefully the 2 main shops coop and budgens will be out of business
A pleasant experience with this Co-op. Well stocked even for 7:30pm on a Saturday. Good dates on food and discounts on those near use by dates the french baguette for 25p!. Training for staff is sufficient as experienced this monitoring first hand at the checkout each member of staff greeted customers with a smile and were accommodating whilst restoring shelves and checking items. Lovely use of doored refrigeration and the fresh bread in contained drawers. Overall lovely and convenient.
Swanage is SCREAMING out for a good, 'normally' priced supermarket, and unfortunately, this is the closest thing to it - it's pricey, has regularly empty shelves despite a huge refit a year or two ago, and there's only 2 other two choices in the area - cost cutters who stock co-op produce and Budgens, I think owned by the same parent company as co-op, who all just seem to be out of step with what a local shop needs to be - yes it's locally positioned, but it's not a local shop - there a definite monopoly going on here! The staff are mostly good, so that's what the 2 stars are for.nWhen will people wake up and realise we're over a barrel here? They are, in my opinion, ripping off local residents who have no other choice.nCome on Tesco, Morrison, LIDL/ALDI etc.. where are you? Having to pay for parking to go and spend money is ludicrous, too!
