Story

Clydebank College was a further education college in Clydebank, in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is now part of the merged institution West College Scotland. Subjects offered for full-time study included: Administration and IT; Beauty Therapy; Coaching and Developing Sport; Computing - Technical Support; Early Education and Childcare; ESOL; Hairdressing; Media and Communication in the Creative Industries; Photography; Social Care; Travel and Tourism. There were also part-time courses available in some of these and in related subjects.The old college buildings at Kilbowie Road have been demolished and a new building was completed in August 2008 on the banks of the River Clyde, at the site of the former John Brown & Company Shipyard and Engineering Works.The current building is on three floors and is very elongated. The library is at one end of the 'grey mile' and the canteen is at the other.Clydebank College was part of the regeneration of West Dunbartonshire, with a 6-acre campus on the banks of the River Clyde.College MergerClydebank College merged with James Watt College and Reid Kerr College in August 2013 to form West College Scotland. It is now known as the Clydebank Campus of the merged college.

I’m rely enjoying my course.nI also want to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the well-coordinated work of the student help center. They are very responsive and will kindly help you solve your problem.
First of all their online application is appalling I started my application on a Monday it took till Thursday for it to be sorted . I also know it broke down at the point I specified my denomination. The business officer was fairly helpful but the rubbish support and procedures in place as determined by the College. Is shocking , even more so when they act like a business not like the publicly funded college that they are. To get on a Welding Course I was expected to give them the money upfront or else no dice. When I asked to pay for it in instalments I was in effect asked to go and whistle for something else . I explained them my situation . Complaints manager Gardner after another week finally dispatched a generic email. No empathy , just a narcissistic tone . Still would not budge nor anyone at the college offer some flexibility at the same time most of the staff are protected by trade unions and don't live under the same unfair rules they push forth on to perspective students. I had to fill in loads of questions just to get my application , loads and loads of personal information , However if they were honest they would have , set things up so it's clear from the beginning that your wasting your time unless you can spend £300 just like that . They sabotaged my application with their unfair policies . Instalments are not uncommon in business , but this place is inflexible and entitled , love their well paid public sector salaries and fair working conditions treat members of the public with contempt it seems . Unfair and unhelpful . Hypocrisy in action .
As a student at WCS Clydebank Campus, I received the best education. The hair & beauty lectures really went above and beyond to build my confidence and practical skills. My HNC Hairdressing course was an amazing experience and highly recommend going back to further study after being in the industry as doing so contributed massively to my success.
As a support worker supporting adults with additional needs and learning disabilitiesnWe have been attending the hairdressers department at the college for a few weeks now with our lovely ladies getting there hairdressers done from start to finish the treatment they have all gad is second to none these very talented young people starting there journey have been wonderful with the people we support and have worked brilliantly with them highly recommended to attend good luck go all of them For the future we look forward go seeing you all again soon
