Sent a dish with undercooked chicken and rotten prawns. I called to complain and the person I spoke to was very rude , tried to gaslight me and hung up. Don’t waste your pennies on this takeawayFood: 1/5
I really wanted Clayton House to be good as I live locally, but it is not. I’ve been twice, three weeks apart in the last month and was disappointed both times. First off they don’t take card payment so if you ignore these reviews at least take cash with you. As a family we’ve ordered the following, prawn toast and salt and pepper ribs which were ok. However, the chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken, and Chicken Kung Po were all substandard taste wise. Finally, the chips, forgotten from my order one time were also cold as they are decanted into a metal tray and left to sit out in the kitchen. I collected my order both times and was told when they should be ready, to arrive bang on time to then be kept waiting 10 to 15 minutes. All this said I’m mindful that the whole operation is run by a lady on her own, which is remarkable hence two stars but easy to understand why quality of service and product suffer as a result. Finally, if you don’t mind low quality food and poor service it is at least relatively cheap.
The rice was mushy like fufu and only seasoning they added was salt it was bland and had no taste honestly I don’t even think they added salt wasted £27 on not so good foodFood: 1/5
Tried for first time tonight as my usual was not open! It cost £10 more for the same dishes and would not order again! Beef and chilli dish was drowned in a sweet chilli sauce, salt and pepper chips were tasteless, prawn crackers chewy, salt and pepper beef again tasteless! Disappointed to say the leastFood: 1/5

Stopped in on the way home from work, ordered and my order was made very quickly. It was delicious. The salt and pepper chips were incredible and the crispy chilli beef was the best I'd had in years. The young gentleman in the front was lovely and very polite. Would definitely recommend
Absolutely awful, avoid at all costs - I called the restaurant to complain as I believe I was given a mixed pork and chicken sweet and sour dish because there were grey pieces and white pieces. Loads of sauce and full of fat. The restaurant said they couldn’t do anything and haven’t had complaints before but obviously that isn’t true due to the reviews I’ve now seen online.
Absolutely disappointed. Food came over 30 minutes late, ignored calls when trying to find out how long it would be. When it arrived it came with only a few items granted we were refunded, but missed the main meals of the food. They said they called several times…we got nothing through apart from the call to say they were here. I literally have chicken and sauce for tea…great
FOOD POISOINING!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE both me and someone else got food POISOINING from this place food was clearly reheated. The chicken was slimey amd we was throwing up all the next day and night. We reported to environmental health and apparently wasn't the first ones to do so. Ramg the Chinese the next day and the lady on the phone was arrogant and in denial that it was their food despite telling us they cooked the rice all wrong and it was clumpy but they sent it anyway, they offered us half price off the food like we want to eat there again
