This college has seriously gone downhill. Admin staff do not respond to emails or queries. I attended enrollment for a adult learners course in electrical installation. They made me so all the pre tests and told me they'd send me start dates. I heard nothing and had to take a day off work to go see the staff in person and was told the class was full and there was no positions available.nnPrevious to this I attended Bricklaying level 1 & 2 and the lecturers were great but no longer at the college. Prior to the course starting i broke my leg and once on my feet i attended college to find the lift was out of action for near 6 months which meant i had to climb the stairs on two crutches. The toilets were out of order so you had to go down to the ground floor to use the one working ladies toilet as all the men's were out of order. For a college that teaches construction courses, the state of the building is not a good look.nnI was not going to review but I've missed out on yet another academic year because of the terrible service from the staff at Wolverhampton College. I do not even get the courses for free. I have to pay full price and here i am.
Out of 150 colleges in England, this college is number 3! Excellent college! There are two campuses, Wellington Road in Bilston and a brand new city centre building opening November 2025. I have done several courses here and it's been a life changing experience. Courses for adults as well as 16 to 18 year olds. The Admissions team, Careers team and Student Services in general are very helpful. It's a friendly and welcoming college. Employability Department run lots of short courses to help people into work. English and maths classes for adults is really useful too. Dedicated teaching staff. Open Days are a good place to have a chat with them, website has all the courses to look at.
I'm Still waiting on communication since July 2025 for someone to contact me back about a course in September 2025. Submitted the necessary information etc. really really poor service and lack of communication!
The receptionists are so rude, I’ve never met anybody that were as rude as them, they had no sympathy for the reasons why I was off, even when we had told them why I was off they were more worried about a GCSE maths exam that I didn’t even have to do because I don’t even do maths and even after telling them that, they were still telling me I needed to attend it. On top of that this years timetable was horrendous, I wanted to know what my timetable would be because I switched one of my a-levels, so I emailed the curriculum manager, no reply, I emailed my tutorial tutor and she told me to email the curriculum manager, so I emailed them again, still no reply, so I went to find them to ask what my timetable is and they shooed me away telling me to go talk to my tutorial tutor about it, or to go to the library and sort it out my self, so I did, my friend found the timetables for year 1 and 2 and I got my time table, until I went into one of my lessons and asked my teacher if he could double check my timetable, I found out that one of the blocks wasn’t happening anymore, and that was the block I was supposed to be in to fit into my timetable. Finding out I couldn’t change one of my a-levels because someone couldn’t be bothered to tell people that blocks are being closed, is really aggravating.
I Learnt my trade there 50 years ago over 3 years on day releasehad many a happy time there dread to think how many millions of people have done the same brings back memories every time i drive past
