The receptionists are so rude, I’ve never met anybody that were as rude as them, they had no sympathy for the reasons why I was off, even when we had told them why I was off they were more worried about a GCSE maths exam that I didn’t even have to do because I don’t even do maths and even after telling them that, they were still telling me I needed to attend it. On top of that this years timetable was horrendous, I wanted to know what my timetable would be because I switched one of my a-levels, so I emailed the curriculum manager, no reply, I emailed my tutorial tutor and she told me to email the curriculum manager, so I emailed them again, still no reply, so I went to find them to ask what my timetable is and they shooed me away telling me to go talk to my tutorial tutor about it, or to go to the library and sort it out my self, so I did, my friend found the timetables for year 1 and 2 and I got my time table, until I went into one of my lessons and asked my teacher if he could double check my timetable, I found out that one of the blocks wasn’t happening anymore, and that was the block I was supposed to be in to fit into my timetable. Finding out I couldn’t change one of my a-levels because someone couldn’t be bothered to tell people that blocks are being closed, is really aggravating.
Worst college in Wolverhampton!! Be ware alot of the teachers have left and I had to study a whole year on my own with no teacher in the electrical engineering course!!!! I would not recommend it at all.nnI have made a complaint like they told me too and they said it wont be investigated. I tried complaining at the time but reception did not bother.nThis is what I wrote if you are muslim , you will suffer racism just like I did nnHello.nnI hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding my academic experience at Wolverhampton College .particularly in relation to the engineering course for the year 2023.nnUnfortunately, the college did not assign a qualified teacher for the microcontrollers unit, which created confusion and anxiety among students. As exams approached, we were assigned a teacher who had only four weeks to prepare us, and unfortunately, there were significant language barriers that hindered effective communication and instruction. Additionally, the course material was not readily available online, and I struggled to find relevant resources to aid my understanding.nnThis lack of support adversely affected students who had previously excelled in other modules where they achieved a distinction , resulting in grades that did not reflect our capabilities. I personally faced challenges that impacted my ability to progress to university.nnMoreover, communication regarding retake options was severely lacking; there were no emails or phone calls to inform us about the process of retaking the module. When I reached out to reception, I was informed that I would need to retake the entire year, including units in which I had performed well. This was particularly distressing, as I was then told that I would have to wait until 2025 to return, which feels like a significant waste of time and resources.nnAdditionally, I experienced troubling incidents with faculty members. One teacher, Daniel Shorter, made inappropriate comments during class regarding his views on Muslims, as he would talk about how he enjoyed killing muslims when he went to war in Iraq which created a hostile learning environment. Similarly, another instructor, David Morris, exhibited discriminatory behavior towards me as the only Muslim student, which further impacted my academic experience. For example, my non muslim class mates would be laughing and talking around me , in one incident I was working on a different assignment as I have finished all the assignments needed for the module I was in . David morris went up to me and ripped the sheets in half .nnI also witnessed a friend from India facing derogatory remarks from the temporary teacher , as he told him that he will end up working as a Taxi driver which added to the overall distress among students.nnMy mother, who studied an ESOL course under the guidance of Ms. Bhawna Sharda, also faced challenges, as the instruction she received often included mispronunciations and inaccuracies in teaching English, her classmates would constantly point out the fact she is misspelling words.nnRegrettably, I feel that my two years at the college have been marred by these issues, which have contributed to a chaotic learning environment. Incidents such as the gunshot at the college further exacerbate my concerns about safety and wellbeing.nnI genuinely hope the college can address these issues to improve the academic experience for current and future students. Thank you for your attention to this matter.nnSincerely,
Best college ever but I don't like the way my GCSE results was.
I did two years of the games design lvl 3 course, the girls on the course Inc me and weren't treated equally at all. I became close with another student and started dating, he then had to help me as I suffer with extreme anxiety, this usually meant he gave me a hug etc. We then got called into the tutors office and got told off for being 'inappropriate' and 'making other students uncomfortable'. This was complete bull as all the other students were our friends and understood why there was contact. This then made my anxiety a lot worse and I frequently cried during lesson. The receptionists and security are rude as well, especially during covid times. And to top it all off, the tutors told me I would achieve a distinction or merit at the end of the course, I then received a pass because my work didn't meet the criteria even though they had told me it was great.
