We had lunch here and it was lovely. Beautiful pub, with log fire, board games built into lots of their tables which is fun, so the games are available to play on some tables for free. We had the hot dog and fish finger bap and they were lovely, crispy batter on the fresh fish goujons, lovely brioche roll, nice crispy chips. Good size for lunch. Good drinks selection as well. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, felt really comfortable, would visit again next time we are in Ludlow. Thanks
On a mini break in Ludlow and decided to have dinner here. We went for the set menu of two courses, at a cost of £16. Starter was buffalo cauliflower wings with a yogurt dip. It was lovely, very tasty and we really enjoyed it. My main meal was cumberland sausage with mash potato and onion gravy, that was heavenly. Good atmosphere, as staff were excellent. A great place to eat, and not overly priced, good value for money.
Lively and bubbly place to eat on a Saturday night! Limited selection of food for vegetarians, but the options we had were tasty. Just the pastry for the pie was very hard. Otherwise great evening had. Thank you!
We had lunch with friends. Service was excellent, friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. The meal and drinks were very good. The environment in the restaurant and bar was welcoming. Well done.Service: 5/5
The most expensive, awful meal I've ever had. I couldn't even cut my steak let alone chew it. But more disappointing was the service of the staff. They didn't ask about the meal or notice that I had not eaten my steak. The waitress said sorry and walked away. Disgusting!Service: 1/5
Went for dinner. Not sure why they use the upstairs as an overflow rather than for restaurant bookings. It would leave downstairs for casual diners and pub with the upstairs feeling more exclusive.Service: 5/5
We were a party of five. We had four good meals but the fifth, a steak, was a poor cut £32 and could only be partly eaten. Complementing the pub on the four other meals we pointed out the substandard steak and returned it saying we would pay only for the four good meals. The pub insisted we pay in full because 'half' the steak had been eaten although eventually gave us 10% off. I didnt think that was satisfactory but accepted it because I felt uncomfortable. The low rating I award is for the way the steak issue was dealt with more than the fact that we were unlucky with the poor quality of steak provided. Embarrassing.
Seated upstairs and was attended to by Tegan. Really pleasant. Had the pulled pork bap and a pint of Ludlow Gold. Really nice place with lots of history to it. Beer garden looks lovely church right beside the parish church. Recommend it Service: 5/5
Food ok but very expensive for the amount of the food you get The sunday lunch I'm not a big eater I finish the entire plate and was still wanting moreService: 4/5
Lovely cosy pub, great food and staff. Perfect after a chilly walk around Ludlow! Gorgeous fireplace too!Service: 5/5
