I used to love Chiquitos but they have changed the menus and the gluten free one now no longer does my favourites, the food was cooked well but seemed lacking, maybe absence has made my heart grow fonder. The staff were friendly but the service was slow which as it wasn't very full was surprising. Apparently there was a problem with kitchen staff but this was not communicated to us at the outset. If restaurants have a problem and they let their customers know it makes for a better experience for the customers. We then know what to expect. On the whole an enjoyable meal but could have been better.
Was so looking forward to this meal but was very disappointed. Cold in there, service very slow. When order did arrive one of the meals was wrong and burger meal had just 4 very blackened wedges and about a tablespoon of coleslaw with it. We aren't 'Complainers' but on this occasion we did. The staff reduced the bill which didn't really feel any better about things. We won't be going back...
Used to love coming here, but now everything feels completely different - the menu has changed and has little to no variety and is quite expensive given the quality of food has gone downhill. I walked into a practically empty restaurant and it took almost an hour for our main meals to come out. Staff were friendly and approachable but seemed to be elsewhere as we were offered a refill on our drinks by one member of staff and then 15 minutes later we saw the same member of staff clock out and leave without bringing drinks back. If you value your time and money I wouldn't bother coming here and it's a great shame as it used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Southampton.
Not to bad but let down by the service and time it took to get the order to the table was far to long seeing as it was not busy
Awful experience, booked a table for 8:30, arrived and they had seated another group at our table. We then did not get seated until 10pm, during this time we waited at the bar taking an hour to get 1 round of drinks. When we were finally seated, our waitress who was lovely and tried to assist us took our order. When our starters came to the table we were told that one of them wasn't available, with us waiting another 10 minutes after the rest of the starters. Too many issues, which put a bad spirit on the birthday celebrations we intended.
Went a few years ago and returned against my better judgement. Service is still abysmal - over an hour for the starters to arrive, and then another 45 mins for the mains - which were luke warm, over cooked and tiny portions. The place wasn't even busy but waiter didn't return to ask how everything was. Definitely never venturing back in this awful "restaurant" again.
It seemed to me that we a party of 6 was a burden to them and the Service level was awful. The food was nothing special, the corn on the cob is a definite no-no, it tasted stale rather than fresh.
Really disappointing arrived to have a meal with the family had to wait over 45min for our food. for it to arrive cold to wait that long you would expect perfection and the nachos soft and little to no cheese on them a really really poor effort from all staff, only one waiter and a manger if that's what you would call him no where to be seen......
Four of us walked into the restaurant this morning and there was only one other table of two. Even then, the food took an hour to arrive, with no apology or updates. When the food did arrive, I was not given the vegetarian burrito I requested, but a meat filled one which I only realised after biting into it- not good for a vegetarian! The waitress apologised and blamed the chef, and my meal was discounted. When my vegetarian burrito was given to me, it was very bland. Safe to say I will not be visiting again!
We were greeted warmly and shown to a nice booth. The decor here is fantastic, really nice and bright! I love the menu here, there is so much to choose from along with some familiar favourites.
