I visited here in September 2022 as part of walking the London Loop around London. This is part of the vast Epping Forest, which you could easily spend the day exploring.
A wonderful experience I've been meaning to have for sometime now. Brought my brother along too. Friendly walkers helped us find landmarks when new technology failed us! Unfortumately some places of interest were closed, like the Queen's Lodge..but we were really there for the vast green spaces and to breathe in the fresh air and late summer sun. There's so much to Epping Forest, so I shall return soon!
Beautiful and peaceful forest walks and open grassland. Lovely throughout all the seasons. Pack the wellies after rainy weather, as it can become quite muddy in places.
The blue & the green , So good for your mind & wellbeing
Beautiful lake and lovely board walks around the area. Great for a day out enjoying the sunshine or feeding the ducks.
A wonderful untouched area of nature - perfect for walks, dog walking and summer outside vibes, with the Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, Butler Retreat Pub and Brewers Fayre Pub to the southerly side accessible from Rangers Road a short walk from Chingford Overland station. Connaught Water is just to the east and easy to walk between the two. A nice mixture of lakes & water, gentle undulating grass & paths and age old forest - perfect for a bit of headspace
We had a very enjoyable visit on this hot day. Peaceful and restful
Beautiful part of the countryside. However its close proximity with Chingford and the London overground makes it one of the busier places in the forest.
Fantastic place to walk, wellies required atm the weather was good and up the top of the hill to the right is a little tea rooms with picnic benches outside where we stopped off . Worth a visit!
Wonderful open space. Please don't leave litter for the cows to choke on!
