Stumbled across this place by chance and saw the tables set out in the sunny courtyard. Had a really lovely early lunch and will definitely go back as they had a really nice menu. Very attentive staff
Lunch visit with friend. I had a Greek salad and my friend an egg sandwich followed by bake tray and Victoria sponge. The food was really fresh including a delicious light sponge. Generous portions and very tasty. The two ladies were very friendly and came across as loving what they do which was providing a tip top service at a reasonable price. What's not to like, would highly recommend this place.

Just popped to Chimes for lunch as it was a sunny day and there was a table outside with an umbrella. Menu looked good and we chose the hotdog meal and quiche. My quiche looked nice when it came out but was very soggy when eating. Mary Berry wouldn't be impressed with the soggy bottom! Nice place, shame about the quiche
Nice coffee and smoothie. Also accepted cash for payment. Good place to sit outside and people watch. Pleasant place to sit on a fine day
I used to come here a lot when the children were little and was always good. Went there today and asked for an iced latte and chicken and avocado baguette. After being told there were no baguettes at 12.15pm and they couldn’t do chicken and avocado I opted for a cheese and tomato toastie. The waitress came out with my iced coffee, when she handed it to me in a disposable plastic cup it nearly burnt my hand! I said to her “this isn’t iced, it’s hot” she answered “a little” I said “no it’s really hot” she took it back in and said she would put more ice in it, after ten minutes came back with a Luke warm coffee with no ice insight. I left it as it was disgusting. Then the toastie came where the cold hard tomato had obviously been put in after the cheese and bread were toasted. Very disappointed, won’t be returning and very expensive!
Shocking, visited today, coffee weak, complained about this on the last visit. The girl who served us was misserible, obviously didn't want to be doing her job.... To make matter worse, offered my card to be told, only cash so I said why, is this because the owner is charged for each transaction, responce yes, this is not my problem. If you run a business, don't inconvience your customers because youre charged for card usage take it as a hit as all other vendors do.
Went for lunch here today but got bored waiting for our order to be taken. Seems strange that it takes so long when there are staff doing very little behind the counter. They get one star because I couldn't post this with none it seems.
Great coffee, cakes and sandwiches made on the spot to your own instructions.
Best cup of tea in England. Friendly staff.
