Pretty poor experience. Moved my savings across from major accounts for their ‘better’ savings rate only to have my account threatened closure if I couldn’t prove my wealth. Seriously!!!! And bearing in mind the small amount of savings this was a complete nonsense and sparked massive alarm bells. Clearly these guys are ‘toy banking’ at its finest, I recommend you avoid as I am now doing. Also if you deposit money here you don’t get an actual account, you know the old school sort code/ account number style. And the final caveat is that you can’t even speak to them, as in on the phone!
Only works if you connect a current account with Open Banking allowing them to look at all your transactions. Silly me, I thought it was a normal savings account where I could transfer my existing £85k savings account for a better rate. Nope. No normal bank transfers for deposits or withdrawals, no funding from savings accounts. Closing my account and deleting the app as soon as they manage to manually withdraw my money. They also seem to be confused about deposits and keep calling them 'saves' :s
Hello I would highly urge people not to use chip. If I could I would review them as 0 stars. I opened up an account via the app and transfered money from my current savings account. I was expecting my transfers to show within 2 hours but in truth almost instant as it was a bank transfer. This did not happen so I joined the chat section where it stated that I will get a response back within 2 hours. I left a message asking how long it would take to see my money on my account. About 4 and half hours later I got a responce, giving me some information about why my funds were not showing. I responded straight away asking more questions and supplying more information. From this point it was silent for nearly 24 hours. I emailed a few times within this period explaining my concerns and worries about my money. When I eventually got a response giving me some more information, again it went silent. Eventually the complaints team emailed me and took my complaint. This is an the worst customer service I have ever received in my whole life. They don't care about you as a customer, they don't make you feel valued as a new customer, so God know how you get treated as a existing customer, but i guess it can't get any worse. My final words are don't use these guys, they are awful.
Truly transformative to the way I have learnt to save. They are supportive in all areas and educate their customers on the value of money. I have never been able to save in my 32 years but since having chip I have saved a considerable amount of money. They keep you connected and inspired with their daily updates which is similar to the way instagram have stories. There are incentives with their prize draw which encourage you to get involved! I think this is truly innovative way to bank and its truly helped me look after my money better. HIGHLY recommend ! Customer service is amazing.
Takes days for money to arrive in your account when you transfer, interface feels like it is tricking you. From my experience of using it for a few days, i wouldnt recommend.
What a load of s***. No account number, no sort code and can't even move money in , let alone take it out. I think it's a scam
stolen money from my bank 17,78 very poor bank now cant get it back avoid this company
Dont invest with these people. First they move money randomly out of your bank account. So called Artificial Intelligence why transfer money across when it wont earn interest. Tried to stop the transfers but the changes didnt have any impact. When I closed the account struggled to get a statement, including issues with sending part statement. Check the interest they say they have paid you it says 1.25% but its not.
Very pleased with the service so far, I signed up using the offer given through Money savings Experts, took a few reads through the application process to understand exactly what I would be expecting, look forward to taking advantage of your investment services when I am in a better position.
I've been using Chip for a couple of years now and I cannot fault it. Daily interest payments have been a huge incentive to save even more. Customer service has always been very responsive
