Title: Mixed Experiences at Charles Hurst Vauxhall Craigavon - 2 StarsnnReview:nnMy latest service experience at Charles Hurst Vauxhall Craigavon for the 63k interval service was notably different. I was initially advised to be the first appointment on the service ramp, but due to the company’s policy of overbooking to compensate for potential no-shows, my slot was pushed back to post-lunchtime, starting at 2pm. This change was neither agreed upon nor communicated prior to my arrival, leading to an unexpected delay.nnThe establishment has become inconsistent, a stark contrast to my 52k service interval experience. The hourly labour rates are exorbitant at £130/hr. I was informed that a minimum of 6 hours of labour would be charged, excluding parts, with a starting fee of £800 plus the cost of parts—which were supplied by me in advance. Unlike my previous visit, the car was not valeted, prompting me to withdraw my vehicle from service.nnReflecting on last year’s visit, it was a vast improvement from our prior review of the Charles Hurst Group over two years ago, which was also negative.nnDuring my 52k interval service, the booking process was seamless, and I encountered no issues. Caoimhe McCardle, the service advisor, was delightful, and her kindness was evident throughout my interaction. The complimentary beverage machine and Wi-Fi provided a comfortable waiting experience, complete with a variety of magazines and television entertainment. The car was thoroughly washed and looked impeccable. The pricing for the services rendered was also reasonable.nnHowever, the sales management team, located adjacent to the waiting area, seemed disengaged. With the exception of one attentive individual near the service counter, the rest of the team, including their manager, failed to acknowledge my presence. The manager appeared preoccupied with a meeting focused on training for mystery shopper awareness, which I inadvertently overheard due to the open office door. This lack of attention to actual customers in the waiting area was disappointing.nnSales Team Consistency:nnRegrettably, the standard of engagement from the sales team remained unchanged from my last visit. The team’s disconnection from the customers was palpable, mirroring the same issues I encountered previously. Despite being in close proximity to the waiting area, the sales team, including the manager, seemed more invested in internal matters than in acknowledging and interacting with customers present. This persistent oversight suggests a need for a shift in focus towards customer engagement and service.
I had the pleasure of dealing with one of the sales reps Luke recently. To say it was the easiest purchase of anything I've ever made would be an understatement. Within minutes of placing an online deposit I received a call back from cheery Luke who quickly set about ensuring all my needs were met and from the car arriving that same day it was ready for pickup by the end of the very same week! Luke took great care to go into detail on all their after sales offering and sufficient info and paperwork supporting everything was provided in advance allowing me time to review options. In the end I opted for the additional total loss cover at a great price. I had the slight difficulty of having no car due to what I could only describe as a cowboy experience elsewhere so it was heartening to finally be greeted with great professionalism from Luke. He's an excellent ambassador for the company and I would not hesitate to recommend family and friends to Charles Hurst Portadown. The car itself came fully serviced, MOT'd, clean all round and immaculately detailed. I was also lucky enough to avail of their £500 off event at the time which was an added bonus. As a recent arrival in NI, I was most appreciative of the in depth explanation given on taxing a car in NI...most helpful. In short, if you're in the market for a used car give them a call. Friendly professionals who stand out in a world of pushy and thoughtless sales tactics!!
Very disappointed with my experience with Charles Hurst, Portadown. Purchased a car and within the first 6 months warranty, a telematics unit totalling over £1000 and an LED side light worth £200 not including mechanic charges have stopped working. Not to mention the 3 tyres I had to replace within the first couple of months. This is not what you expect when you have just bought a car. Extremely dissatisfied. Would not recommend.
My sales rep joel harrleson was great, i told him what i was after and he worked to get me the car i wanted. Great sales team great company. These guys will take care of you.
James Clarke in uses direct portadown looked after us and went above and beyond. Very happy with our car. James made sure that is suited us and our budget. If ever changing cars in future he will be a our first call
