Lovely campsite. A little on the expensive side but the toilets and showers were clean so it was worth it for me. Pity the dog rule isn't adhered to or enforced. We were woken by a dog at 6.55 am barking right outside our tent...the dog was from the opposite corner of the field and its owners just let it run wild the whole time. I have two labs didn't take them so it's not that I'm not a dog person, I just believe in consideration for others. I would return though, the staff and facilities were lovely.
We’ve had a fabulous time! Lovely campsite with everything you need, clean showers and toilets, excellent pub / cafe, loads of pitch space in big camping fields. We don’t fish but if we did, the fisheries are brilliant. We’ll definitely be back!
Camped for three nights with my 3 children. It's the best site I have been too. The owners are just so kind and lovely and the spaces are plenty between pitches. The fishing lakes are unreal it's so good. The vending machine area and toilet/showers are immacate. Can't wait to return.
A lively campsite with four fishing ponds full of fish. They have separate toilets and wash basins at the entrance to the camping field which was a huge plus point and they space out the pitches well so you aren't going to get someone pitch right next to you I've had this happen loads over the years on other sites it's very weird. My only minor gripe would be the cost, 23 quid a night just to camp is a bit expensive, especially if you're doing a full weekend and you add on fishing and fire pit costs. Despite that I'll be going again. Better run than most campsites.
Love this place! Very friendly staff always willing to help, clean and tidy site. Toilet and shower block is well maintained and clean. We just love it and can't think of any negative thing to say at all
Great place to go for a short stay, particularly if you like fishing. Lovely people running it. 3 showers for whole site that you have to slot 50ps into and cafe not open week days only downfall and why I wouldn't stay more than 2 nights
I visited today for a day ticket fishing session. The fishing pools were well presented and fully aerated. The fish I caught were all in very good condition and I'd definitely go back to try one of the other pools available. The bailiff/owner was also a pleasure to chat to.
We have visited this camp site frequently over the last time 2/3 years and never had any problems but last year decided not to return again because whilst we appreciate this is a family run business they are out to chase every single last penny then can get from you and are not afraid to show it. One time they were reluctant to give us the £10 deposit back for our fire pit. The man running it and his dad Just sat looking at each other as if a stand off was happening about who was going to dig into there pockets first and the next time we visited we were abruptly questioned about whether or not we had returned the fire pit back to reception. The fire pits are brought to your tent for you on the back of a tractor so why would I place a filthy one in the my car and return to reception?? Cafe gone down hill, overpriced with bad service.
site is spotless and has absolutely everything you need. staff are amazing and so friendly and go above and beyond especially the young girls working in the bar. food was lovely and worth every penny. daughter age 2 loved it.
What a fabulous spot for camping . Can see for miles on a clear day. The fire pit are a lovely feature to sit and star gaze of an evening. The fishing ponds are great with lots of catches !! We love staying here. * Edit to say yet another fabulous visit thank you and see you next month : *
