The food here is always always good. I tend to try something different each time I go and I am never disappointed. The curry here is delish! They require a booking but you could get a table on the upper floor without one depending on how busy they are. The staff are really good too.
This is a really decent place for a formal date or a casual lunch or dinner. The waiters here are good and they are really friendly and the have a good approach. They have a verity of food to order and the food really taste good. They have a good amount of wine as well. The sitting area is really good and clean. To get to the restaurant you have to go through like a alley if you are on Oxford street so look out for sign of St. Christopher’s Place.
I was greeted here quickly by the friendly waitress and offered a table straight away. It was a murky Wednesday night and town was quite quiet. I ordered the Thai dim sum for starter and the Panang beef with coconut rice. The dim sum was absolutely delicious. Full of flavour, good size portions and an absolute treat. The beef Panang had a lovely flavour and the beef was cooked rare as I prefer, but the pieces were a little big for my liking The sauce was delicious on the other hand, with good amount of veg, however it could have been a tad spicier, but then again I do like a bit of heat. Thought it was a good meal overall, and quite reasonable too.
Lunch boxes are good. Admittedly all items on the plate we tasty, including the soup but there was too much going on, too many different flavours that didn't work together and the vegetarian options were limited. Decor is quite tacky but it appeals to the people around Selfridges
Lovely atmosphere. Very ethnic. However, it was extremely expensive for the quality of food that was on offer. Came to more than 30 per person when we ordered just a few dishes. I probably won't be going again.
Excellent food. Could not fault it. However disliked the way the waitress kept pushing to order other drinks several times. ordered still water but she repeated back iced tea? Jasmine tea? I said no- water. Happened a few times and could also hear upsellimg at other tables. Became quite annoying after!
The biggest problem with this place is choosing what to eat because everything on the menu sounds so good! I can definitely recommend the lamb massamun curry though. Very nice decor, good service, maybe slightly on the pricey side but no regrets here - I'd happily go back.
After dining at most Thai restaurants in London and out with, the Chaophaya Eat-Thai is by far the best, quality of the food and service is superb and at one of the main things we look forward to when we visit the city, lovely restaurant and lovely people running it. I would recommend this place to anyone.
VERY DISAPOINTING The staff were lovely but the food was not great. The fried tofu as a starter was like eating dried bread, the pad thai was very salty and not that tasty.
Definatly not the best pad thai in the world as claimed. Good service. Average food.
