This is a fantastic place with a relaxing, unpretentious atmosphere. The food is all cooked by the owner who's been there for years. The ingredients are first rate, the food simply tastes different and far better than all those lazy, pan-Asian restaurant chains that perforate London and claim to be unique. Also, it's incredibly good value: I paid £22 for 3 bottles of beer, a starter and a main. It's the real deal, take a few mates, your family - whoever. I'm definitely going back!
A wonderful little, seemingly Mum and Dad run place with the usual Thai fare. They managed to squeeze us a group of 4 in when the place was already packed and the friendly staff where happy to serve. They even chased after us down the street when we left our keys in the shop. The food was a good quality and seemed more traditional than a chain or franchised restaurant.
Great little place run by a very enthusiastic and friendly lady and her family. This place is often packed but well worth waiting for a table. They do their best to make sure you get seated at some point. The restaurant itself is tiny and often full of the odd bit of junk but the friendliness of the owner makes it feel like your round a family members house having a good bit of food. Don't go for the decor, go for the food and smiles. The real winner on the menu here is the deep fried sea bream which is literally amazing. Great and authentic Thai Food at really good prices
I have been coming here for nearly 20 years, for an authentic Thai dining experience this is the place. The food is outstanding and the staff are very friendly. The building isn't perfect but the food more than makes up for it.
The staff and service was nice and friendly. The food came in small portions. The Thai tea was wayyyy too sweet! The sweetest Thai tea I have ever had. The coconut rice was also sweet, like a sweet dessert. However the red beef curry was nice.
Just ordered from it on uber eats. Terribile! Gyozas fried in burnt oil, pad Thai extremely dry and impossible to it, another tasteless main which was meant to be to be stir fried meat and veggies in a spicy sauce. I was hoping it would be as good as from the reviews here. It probably changed management and cook recently. Not recommended.
Best Thai in the area. The fact that the place was rammed all night on a Tuesday speaks for itself. We wanted somewhere that was non-pretentious and focused on great value food and atmosphere rather than image, and that's exactly what this was. Basic surroundings, with the most authentic Thai cooking I've tasted outside Thailand - at very reasonable prices. But the real draw is the magical performance of the staff. Even if the food was horrible, I would come back just for the hilarious performance of 'Tina'. Pure brilliance. She needs her own show and a promotion.
Great Thai restaurant that's been around forever. Service may leave a little be to desired but I just think that adds to the great atmosphere in this restaurant, I've eaten here dozens of times and the quality and value never diminishes. Amazing pad thai, if you're looking for something with a bit more kick have a crack at the beef in holy basil with rice. Best I've had.
Superbly authentic food with soul! Perfect portion sizes and enough veggie/vegan options for many return visits. The décor isn't going to blow you away but if you bring the company then the food and wine will more than cover it and a very reasonable price. My friend and I will be returning with more people to show off this gem.
Thai Cottage might not be the swankiest looking restaurants but it definitely wins on authenticity. The food here feels home made and is delicious. The fact that there was a cook peeling bean sprouts on one of the tables as we walked in told me that they weren't afraid to show customers how fresh their food is. It's said that this place sells the best Thai in Soho, and I definitely wouldn't dispute it.
