Absolute dream of a place!! Been wanting to stop here for a good while, glad we did too! If you like walks, wild water and location this is for you, it can be a challenge though... Staff really nice and helpful, room, wow! Drink prices typical for a hotel but, fine. Food, okay, but, needs a rethink... Disappointed that certain items aren't on the menu, certainly breakfast, choice limited , why no cereal or fruit even? A Steak or Eggs Benedict per say... Some item's first class, ie. Pie's & Snacks. But, must say, both meals & breakfasts were very good, and the portions more than adequate... Definitely look into visiting again, it's a gem that needs to shine... Loved it!!
Lovely spot on the river, bonus of seeing the steam train across the way too. Breakfast is good and sets you up for the days explorations. Staff are friendly and rooms are adequate. Word of advice, DO NOT bother with the ‘main’ car park, jump straight on the second car park the first you come to that’s signposted. It’s far too small and tight unless you’re in a city car and fills up quickly.
We were allocated a mini-suite on the top floor. Huge amount of space, choice of inside or balcony seating areas from which to view the incredible scenery. It would be hard to equal this view. Excellent food, delightful staff and a stunning location.
Lovely little hideaway hotel right on the river see overlooking the steam railway. Just a short walk 30 mins ish into Llangollen. Great service from the lovely staff here. Bar and restaurant within the hotel, nice open fire and a fairly good menu choice. Nice breakfast included in the price. It’s not the last word in luxury, but if you’re looking for somewhere warm, friendly and picturesque to stay all at a very reasonable price then this place is for you.
WOW!!! We've only come for one night couldn't picked a more perfect place. Always seen this hotel from the llangollen railway and always wanted to stay here. Its a lovely spot with drinks by river Dee and great place to start walks. We came in a rainy March month and river Dee was quite high which added to our stay. Our stay was nice and peaceful even though the hotel was fully booked. The meal at night was satisfying and well priced and was filling. The breakfast was just what I expected lovely.
Well I came across this place as I walked from Horseshoe Falls to Llangollen.Its in a beautiful setting right next to the river Dee which you could watch crashing by.I was greeted by very helpful friendly staff,had some lovely soup and a . Definitely recommend and I certainly will be back. Well done all
A nice hotel in a stunning location with the white water rapids of the river Dee rushing under the chainbridge. Gemma showed amazing customer service, from the start she was attentive and very friendly. I had a meal and coffee, and while the food was good, it was Gemma that made the experience outstanding, with her friendliness and excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend it.
Location to die for, rooms with a view of the river are fantastic rooms with the canal view are a little glum but well layout if it's just an overnight stay. Food is good views even better. Rooms: 4/5
Lovely friendly hotel and pub. Great Sunday lunch, prawn cocktail and pate starters, roast and lasagne, cherry pie for pud, all delicious and overlooking theriver. Staff friendly, penthouse room amazing. Walkability: Nice walk to horseshoe falls and towards Llangollen
Beautiful views from the balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back for another visit Rooms: 5/5
