Chai Ki is a fantastic spot for delicious Indian food. The dishes are flavorful, with generous portion sizes that leave you satisfied. The pricing is reasonable for the area, and the service is both welcoming and efficient. Definitely worth a visit!Food: 4/5
Szechwan Wedges - excellent Warm Paneer salad - excellent Kerala cauliflower - doesn't work Dhal fry - lovely Butter naan & tandoori roti - small but nice Water - amazing HAHA Being a massive masala tea fan, at £7.50 for a small cup, I stuck to water and my mocktail pornstar martini - even though it tasted far too minty. Fantastic speedy service! Excellent ambience! Very spacious. I would definitely come back here for the paneer salad alone although I will be trying the Paneer Malai next time. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian option is extremely limited here so you may find you can cover the vege dishes in 1 visit and wont need to go back anytime soon. Szechwan Wedges & Warm Paneer Salad is highly recommended however the paneer is not the usual natural white paneer that we use at home, its the processed yellow paneer however with the all the vege's and the indo-chinese sauce, you don’t notice it too much. Worth a visit, you wont be disappointed!
Overall, Chai Ki has its strengths in drinks and appetizers, while the main courses and service have room for improvement. I used to be a regular at Chai Ki before COVID-19, often dining here when I stayed in Canary Wharf. This review reflects both my past experiences and my visit today, focusing on the fusion Indian food the restaurant offers. I understand that the menu is designed to cater to a broader audience, not just those accustomed to traditional Indian cuisine. - The restaurant now has a unified menu instead of the two separate ones they used to offer. - Service has declined; the servers were not that attentive, and we had to wait 15-20 minutes for water and request refills ourselves. - Bottled water is paid as tap water is on the house. Servers don’t tell that hence ask for tap water if you will not like to pay for bottled water - There are fewer vegetarian options in main course now. What We Ordered: Drinks: 1. Neela Sober Spritz: Absolutely fantastic. 5/5 2. Guava Virgin Martini: Equally delightful. 5/5 Appetizers: 1. Schezwan Aloo Wedges: Nicely cooked with a tasty sauce and a hint of spiciness that we enjoyed. 4/5 2. Kerala Fried Cauliflower: Excellent. Reminiscent of a deep-fried bread roll with a filling of cauliflower and potatoes. 5/5 Mains: 1. Dhal Fry: Nearly authentic with a great taste. Consistent over the years, but the portion size is small, suitable for individual servings rather than sharing. 4/5 2. Garlic Naan: Nice and crispy but lacking in garlic flavor. 4/5 3. Tandoori Roti: Very dry and disappointing. 1/5 4. Dakshini Platter: Decent, though the sambhar was too thick yet flavorful, and the jackfruit was bland. 3/5 5. Market Subz Biryani: Flavorful but missing the authentic taste of a biryani. The jackfruit could have been cooked better. 3/5 Dessert: - Malai Cheesecake: A delicious must-try. 5/5 Vegetarian options: Limited
It was my first time dining at Chai Ki and wasn't sure what to expect. The food was amazing and our server Mohammad definitely made our experience a delightful one. He was extentive and very kind. I see myself definitely coming back in the near future.Food: 5/5
The food and the service were truly exceptional. The menu choice were exquisite and each dish was full of different flavours . The staff was promptly and friendly . Me and my team will definitely go back and recommend for business or casual lunch and dinner! Super great location too ! Thanks you all!
Had a lovely dinner here. A bit noisy but the food was yummy. Loved the Gurkhali chicken wings, very tasty with the right amount of spice and the good texture from the grill. Prawn Moilee was also excellent, with a sweet creamy and mild sauce that went perfectly with some naan. Very good food, much recommendedFood: 5/5
Good ambience and excellent food !!! I was hungry and craved for an Indian food! So, just hopped out of office and landed in Chai Ki to have some delicious Paneer chilli salad, which had the exact Indo-Chinese flavour, tossed with some lettuce, green chillies and bell peppers. The spice level was too good and too good. Also tried the Dahi Puri, which was delicious too… And for drinks I can recommend the Lychee Rose Bellini. Great service too… would definitely visit again.
Loved it! Very friendly staff , cosy atmosphere. Good food!!!! Happy hour until 7pm everyday with cocktails at £7. Puri 5pcs £6.80. plenty of vegetarian options :Food: 5/5
Went for dinner one night and went back every night during our 5 night stay in Canary Wharf. Their food is delicious but the masala chai is the best. The guava margarita is very good if you want a non alcoholic drink Vegetarian options: Several options
Visited this place after a while. The service was very slow this time. We ordered Sigri Aubergine and Dahi Puri for starters and it was great. The biryani is very british and not very authentic but doesnt mean it didnt taste great.Food: 3/5
