The Central Synagogue has been in Great Portland Street, London, in one form or another for more than 155 years. Today’s synagogue was rebuilt and reconsecrated in 1958, after the original building was destroyed in a bombing raid on 10 May 1941.

Story

The history of The Central Synagogue is an integral part of the proud history of Anglo-Jewry. It has played a noble part in the life and activities of the Jewish Community here in London. Its archives are full of outstanding figures who have contributed enormously to the welfare and prosperity of the Jewish and wider community.

Warm and friendly community. Nice prayers.

This synagogue is incredbly welcoming, friendly, and beautiful. We visited for a Shabbat and were treated like members of the congregation. We were even invited to the beautiful Kiddush! If I'm ever back in London, I'll be coming back to Central Synagogue.

The worst synagogue of my life I've never been treated so poorly I was told to put a veil on my head!

יהודים הנמצאים לצורך פרנסתם בדרכים ומשתדלים מאוד להתפלל במנין ומנצלים את זמנם הפינוי ללימוד תורה (לעתים בהמתנה ללקוח המתנה שיכולה לקחת שעות), מבקשים בכול לשון של בקשה, נא לציין כאן במפות את שעות התפילות: שחרית, מנחה, ערבית ואם יש שיעורי תורה נא לציין את נושא השיעור וזמני השיעור. כמו כן במידת האפשר לצלם את לוח המודעות המכיל את המידע הנ"ל לצורך זיכוי הרבים ולהוסיף למפות. על חשיבות מצוות זיכוי הרבים ומעלתה ניתן לקרוא באתרים: הידברות, ערכים. וכן לראות את הסרטים הנמצאים ברשת: סעדה, מוות קליני, שרון נחשוני הסרט, סיאנסים בצבא, זאת בכדי להבין עד היכן הדברים מגיעים - כלומר חסד רוחני ליהודי וכמו שהזוהר כותב שאם הינו יודעים על מעלת זיכוי הרבים היינו רודפים אחר מצווה זו כמו שרודפים אחר החיים. ראוי לציין כי הבקשה לעדכון המידע נכון גם לכל בתי הכנסת. היו ברוכים.
