A cosy library in a hard to miss old building. The staff goes out of their way to help you to choose the right book, and even arranges for books to be delivered from other libraries. Offers a very wide range of literature, as well as movie and music discs. Also provides access to the internet.

Beautiful library - general section on the ground floor, Scottish section lower level, music CD section, upper level art & architecture, gorgeous ceiling in upper research section with quiet desks

Large centre of town library with large children, music and art lending libraries. Large reference library on top floor with lots of desks is brilliant place to study, and has very wide range of journals, magazine and newspapers as well as more traditional reference materials. Frequent topical exhibitions in stairwell are worth visiting and the domed ceiling of the reference library is spectacular. Staff always very helpful. Regular programme of meet the author sessions and other seminars.
