I'm a bit biased. American born and Morpeth bound I prefer quality at a fair price. Forget Starbucks I want old fashioned customer service with locally sourced. Central Bean passes muster every time. I'm a bit fussy about my cuppa Joe as I once served behind the counter in Orlando Florida coffee bistro back in the day. Morpeth Sanderson Arcade is a nice respite and Central Bean a must try.
Not very welcoming, dirty cups and plates uncleared all over the place, staff talking loudly to each other whilst customers are a bit of an inconvenience. Coffee bitter, over roasted harsh not smooth. Disappointing.
Asked for hot chocolate extra hot as I Had to help someone else drink first.. The barista said that would be fine but the message did not get passed on and the drink was normal so it was cold by the time I drank itService: 3/5
Just had two Flat White Coffees and piece of cake, very nice, been a few times.Service: 4/5
Nice coffee & venue. But...if only the girl carrying the cups & saucers would try not to bang them around. What a racket and it spoilt the surroundings for me. I am not just talking about one or two times but 5 trays of washed dishes being dropped onto the bench and what a racket when removing them. So only 3 stars i'm afraid.
Normally lovely coffee & staff but very disappointed today, got my order wrong & were rude, miserable & sarcastic as if it was my fault!!! Won’t be back if these two members of staff are working

Always have a lovely coffee. Which is testament to the barista.
This is a favourite coffee shop by a long way. The staff are great and make the best coffee bar none. The range of products is great and it's reasonably priced. The set up works well so you don't wait for hours to get served and it is a great place to sit and watch the world go by accompanied by a latte other coffees are available and something tasty. We love the bacon and brie sandwiches and there is always something sweet just to make sure you get a balanced meal
Wish it was cosy but it's not but the chai tea lattes are the best flavour.Food: 3/5
