If you can survive the nightmare of getting in and out of the place during check in / parking up and leaving then you’re in for a family friendly treat. I think it’s a given that’s it’s expensive, but you know what you’re getting and the pool / slides are worth it for a fun packed weekend. We took our own bikes to get around and the rule of parking up and leaving your car works to offer a mainly safe environment for the kids to ride around and have fun. The shops and food are obvs quite expensive, but not unreasonable, after all you can and should take your own food and drinks. It’s massive, so if you haven’t been for a while then prepare to get lost or spend time getting your bearings - it really is an ideal weekend retreat. Despite it being busy, it’s never a problem getting around and doing whatever you want, just book in advance for the activities. The staff are helpful and we always felt safe, with plenty of lifeguards and attendants on hand. The chalets are a bit dated, but comfy and mostly clean. Having the wildlife outside the door is a treat, we even had a visit from a small mouse! We enjoyed family getaway and despite the weather it’s great. I don’t think we would stump up for school holiday prices, but a weekend away is reasonable. Some of the usual things are a bit pricey shuffleboard £35 an hour is steep but the bowling etc is usually ok. If you fancied a wonder out, then the nearby pub Rose Cottage serves a wonderful pub lunch 10 min by walking.
Our first time doing a Center Parcs holiday and absolutely will be returning again. A wonderful if somewhat pricey half term break for the family. Our 2 and 10 year olds had an absolute whale of a time, and my wife and I came back feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.nnOur cabin was clean, well laid out and had all the accoutrements needed for a fully self catered holiday. We did eat in many of the restaurants which were quite expensive for what they were, but with the exception of The Dozing Duck which had the worst steak I've ever had the misfortune of eating, kept the family happy.nnActivities were great for our 10 year old. Spa was really nice. Site was easy to navigate on bike and very peaceful.nnThe pool was amazing, with plenty of slides and activities for all ages. Pro tip: for the raft slides, it's quiet after 7pm, so evening vists are recommended. Changing facilities were surprisingly clean for being so busy.nnAll in all, top tier holiday. Obviously far cheaper to do during term time, and pricey during school holidays. But I would happily pay that premium to avoid airport hassle.
Loved this place. Busy getting in and out but extremely well organised. The 'No cars' thing is brilliant, you feel safe walking and riding around. So many things to do, quite expensive but we were prepared for that. It was all made up for Christmas and it felt magical, in and around the main areas. Even as an adult with grown up kids it was amazing and special. The villa we stayed in was so comfortable and warm. Lots of squirrels outside to feed. Me, me daughters and partners had the best weekend
We have been coming 25 years since our children were little and now bringing grandchildren. You can still get reasonably priced accommodation if you come out of school holidays or go as a group. There are ways to make it cheaper if you are on a budget by cooking your own meals, using the swimming area which is included in the price and play areas. There are so many activities to do here but most of them cost. We just love spending quality time together and relaxing. The Winter Wonderland was amazing. So exciting and magical. Everything is baby and child friendly. You can bring dogs to certain areas as well. We love it
Nice little break. It's not the cheapest place but I knew that before we went. I'd say 6 quid for a pint of Carling is pushing it though. Really enjoyed the quiz nights, did it twice and got 2nd place twice. Swimming pools are great as is the overall park. Christmas theme walk around is great of youre an Xmas nut or have younger kids. Dozing Duck is the best restaurant there IMO, and you can have a game of shuffle board.
