If you've never been to Center Parcs, it may be a half - remembered ad. from your younger days about a subtropical swimming paradise. You might think it will be a bit rubbish, but you'd be wrong. It's the most wonderful, peaceful break you can have, with plenty of activities if you want them, communing with lively wildlife in a managed forest. A mother goose with her goslings actually rapped on our patio door glass one morning to be fed. That's a life enhancing experience. The accommodation is really good, with massive kitchen and big living area. If you want to cut costs, do supermarket shopping on the last part of your journey there, bearing in mind you might have to wait to check in. The entry gates are reminiscent of Jurassic Park in some oblique way and are very efficient indeed, quickly sending you on your way to unload your stuff, then dump you car in the car park for the duration and get around the unpolluted forest on your bicycle or on foot for the duration. Aqua Sana is luxurious and a bit dearer than most high street places. Shellac nails are recommended. The subtropical swimming paradise is still there and it's wonderful to splash around outside in warm water on a cool, moonlit evening.
