What a lovely eveningnWe arrived with no reservation and were made to feel very welcome, the lovely lady who served us was very friendly and attentive all the way through our meal. The atmosphere was very relaxed and even though it was busy and a wedding party were using the facilities food arrived in good time and was of a good standard. Lots on offer on the menu for all ages and dietary needs and the prices are so reasonable we were very surprised when we got the bill.nWe would have loved to have left our waitress a tip but like most we don't carry cash and when asked she said it wasn't an option to leave one via the card machine.nWe left feeling happy and full and even my son who is extremely fussy about food said he enjoyed the burger. We will be back. Thank you
Enjoyed a lovely lunch when visiting family in Barnstaple.nnHaving lived in the area for many years, we had been many times before but not in recent years.nnIt was a very hot day, so we were offered inside seating or outside. We chose to eat indoors and the server placed us right next to French doors which he kindly wedged open for us.nnThe other server was fantastic, remembering all 5 orders and getting them spot on when they arrived.nnWe sat at a circular table which is great for conversation.nnEveryone thoroughly enjoyed their meals that were all very tasty and a little bit different to the run of the mill meals so many places sell.nnWe then moved into the garden area to finish our drinks.nnWe will definitely come again when visiting the area.
We visited to mark a special occasion for 2 as we had really enjoyed previous visits.nnService was inattentive and uninterested at best. Starters whilst quick were mediocre and one over cooked ans chewy.nnMain course arrived contaminated with hair on one plate, although accidents happen it certainly hadn't been checked prior to serving.nnThe subsequent dealing of this became a complete embarrassing debacle including a merry dance of bringing plates back and forth, when we did finally recieve our mains together they were okay but one hadn't been cooked to the requested taste. At this point even if the waitress had visited to ask if all was okay, we would have complied to avoid any further issues.nnEventually after such an embarrassing situation including others in dining room taking notice and an unfortunate manager visit to our table, we cut out visit short.nnWhilst the management was kind to offer to not charge for the soft drink we had to persistently request prior to starting our main course which only arrived after eating, it was disappointing to hear from neighbouring guests that the offered gesture of small discounted amount off the meal was something that comes standard with those staying at the hotel.nnWe left feeling more stressed than satisfied, which was disappointing considering the venues atmosphere and that it was a quiet service.nnBasic level training in all areas from management down would prevent such poor service.nnSadly we won't be eager to return and will not be recommending to our numerous visiting holidaymakers.
The Most perfect Day we could of asked for!!nnMe and my Patner got married on the 3rd of August 2024 and it was the most magical day we ever could of asked for! Our wedding coordinator lou was absolutely amazing and made sure every part of our day went to plan, we had plenty of meetings so that we could got over everything we wanted on the day. The staff where so helpful and friendly, the food was amazing and the in house DJ was fantastic! We highly recommend The Cedars Inn
This is a lovely place. Very nice rooms, spotlessly clean. Nice bathroom too, modern amenities usb chargers, wifi.nnBreakfast was nice. Service was good. Staff were friendly.nnRecommended. Would stay again.
