Jack was brilliant and patient with me and my friend, he was cool and understandable even when we lost a deposit on a game which was our fault! Most fun in Brighton, cost wise, for a few mates! Toad in the hole and bar billiards!
Had a roast here last week, and it was an absolute delight. Everything was excellently cooked and we were all full and happy by the end of it. One of my friends even booked in immediately for the next Sunday! Booking essential!
Lovely outside seating area and free parking. However, the food is very average and the seafood open club sandwich was disappointing. The menu description said it would be served with king prawns but when it arrived it was just two little battered prawns laying on top of a small amount of canned lobster/crab.
Lovely pub with a great outdoor area. They also have a function room, lots of drink options, delicious food including the Sunday roast! Spent many birthday evenings /days here. Service is excellent and the owners very friendly! A hidden gem!
She's got great arms, even though at her age you can start to see the cellulite. Though after a nice beer that doesn't matter... Great pub! ;
Sunday lunch in Brighton with the family - decent food, really friendly service and sitting in glass bubbles outside made the experience fun, and encouraged us to talk to the other table in there. Recommended
We visited Coppa for lunch and booked a table in one of the outdoor ‘igloos’ essential to book in advance, you’ve no chance of getting a ‘walk-in’ igloo. The restaurant itself looks really funky, great design, and was packed. The front of house staff looked really presentable but were flapping and having difficulty dealing with demand. I wouldn’t recommend eating in the main restaurant if you want a good conversation with someone, as it was very noisy, but it was a Saturday lunchtime after all. The igloos were superb, really cosy inside and warm, and great funky music. Far better if you looking for an intimate lunch/dinner. There were blankets to put over your legs incase you got a bit chilly, but didn’t really need them as it was toasty. The service was surprisingly good, despite being so busy. Our waitress was great, very helpful and personable. I wish I’d remembered her name! Reasonable selection on the menu, and cocktails etc I had a delicious superfood salad with chicken. Loads of it and very tasty. And some lovely puds too I’d recommend if you want a ‘novelty’ dining experience in one of the igloos. Remember to book. Reasonably priced.
Great for comedy and pints are a good price staff are Friendly! Nice cozy pub vibe very busy on the weekends tho to be expected
Following a visit to another Classic Inns venue - The Old Plough in Seaford, I decided this was an ideal venue for a quick lunch between appointments. I had the lasagne as I had before but my meal was a poor relation, the salad was poor, there were no soya beans, no sesame seeds and no dressing. The lasagne was served in an enamel dish which was too large for the portion. In Seaford everything was perfect EXACTLY as advertised. And someone a manager if they have one should ensure staff mobile phones are left in lockers. I do not take kindly to waiting while staff are looking at their phones and please learn some manners, the female I was with is anything but a "Guy" she is a lady. It is vulgar to refer to a mixed couple as guys! Will I be back, I rather doubt it and I will think twice about other pubs in the Classic Inns group.
Very nice pub near to station. Good beer selection and a few toad tables for a bit of Sussex sporting fun!!
