Cavendish Pavillion Cafe
"Located on the banks of the River Wharfe in the parkland of Bolton Abbey is a pavilion quite unlike anywhere else. It’s the perfect place to fuel your soul, Yorkshire-style. Situated in the heart of The Bolton abbey estate, the Cavendish Pavilion is the perfect riverside venue for refreshments and a bite to eat as part of your family day out – serving hot and cold drinks, hand-made cakes, sandwiches and hot food everyday. Opened in 1980, it very much resembles a Victorian style station building. In the evening, in its magical setting, the Cavendish Pavilion is transformed into a fantastic party venue."

It's a pleasant and good size cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It is let down by the fact that the coffee is not always hot enough, and the cakes are ridiculously overpriced. £3.00 for a small slice of a lemon drizzle cake....I don't think so!. If they were exquisite cakes I'd understand.... Result is that we only get coffee and leave a little underwhelmed
Nice little cafe with both interior and exterior seating. Little pricey, but that's to be expected. We only bought refreshments, but they seem to so sandwiches and hot food too. There's a car park just a few metres away with disabled access and the lovely walk in to Strid wood is just adjacent to the pavilion. Kid-friendliness: Children's food menu Play area right outside Parking: Car park just a few metres away with disabled access. Book online for a small discount on the £15 parking charge. Wheelchair accessibility: Car park with disabled access Flat, well paved trails around the site
After a walk around the grounds, this is a nice spot for a sandwich and a hot drink. Plenty seating indoor or out and toilets are near by. Just a good spot to sit and crowd watchFood: 5/5
Great place for a brew and cake after a good long walk. Staff helpful and friendly. Tables cleared and cleaned promptly. Lovely views of the river and countryside when dining outside. Toilets well maintained and clean. Restrictions for shop so it doesn't get to crowded. Lovely postcards available, cards, sweets, books and toys. Something for everyone. Entrance fee is £12.50 per car. No booking on-line required. Photos show views from bridge over river.
We visited the Cavendish Pavilion CAFE on our visit to Bolton Abbey after our 9 mile river walk , the last time we visited was a few years ago when we were presented with well cooked tasty warm food served correctly With crockery and cutlery , now you have to queue up to purchase pre-packed sandwiches and a coffee and hot chocolate served in paper cups , it’s not cheap and they could do far better ,The building is large and could be a little goldmine if ran correctly by somebody Who cares about customer service and standards , and for a place with so many dog walkers it isn’t even dog friendly , overall we were very disappointed in the service and standard of the Cavendish pavilion , if you want A lovely meal or just a piece of cake call-in at the abbey tea rooms for a substantial meal, or cake and a warm coffee served in crockery not paper cups with friendly staff not just kids serving, overall I recommend you walk to the Devonshire Arms and call in at the café over the road for better service and value for money .
We dropped by here on our way back around the trail. There was plenty of outdoor seating and a really nice outdoor play area for the kids, looks like a pirate ship. When we were there some very friendly ducks were meandering about, the place feels very open and welcoming. There's a small shop next to the cafe with some nice souvenir stuff. The outdoor seating area was clean and well maintained, the toilets were immaculate which was nice. You can see and hear the river outside and directly opposite is the bridge if you want to stand over it. It's all over one level so completely accessible for wheelchairs and prams. My partner had hot chocolate and a caramel brownie. Said the drink wasn't to her taste as it was incredibly sweet but the brownie was delicious. I had a latte which was fine. Wasn't too expensive, will be going again the next time we're there.
Right... a modest review that may be a bit harsh as my main beef with it if you'll pardon the pun is that the plant-based options were limited! In fairness... I was late in the day and all options may have been limited. But, there is a wide selection of hot and cold food and beverages with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It will likely be a perfect stop for most visitors
Was an OK refuge from the English weather. Dog friendly part of the cafe was too small. No toasties available and staff weren't helpful. Also took a long time to make a cup of tea.Food: 3/5
Love the tranquillity of this place. Bought a season pass for £90. Seems steep for the year as it was £70 last year. But, all things considered... it is £10 to park per visit so we will certainly make use of it. Bonfire night entrance is not included in the price which I find disappointing. This is a beautiful place in all weathers
We went on the Easter Trail and even in the rain the kids had a good day!Atmosphere: 5/5
