We have been stating close by and tried the castle Inn. Such a lovely pub and friendly staff. We had a beautiful meal and even said we would travel to come back it was just divine and home made. Only let down was my pudding as cold inside. We would recommend this pub and the food to all our friends
Excellent 3 night stay. Great food, good breakfast. room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Our dog loved it too.
Staff were great, kept well informed of meal times. The food was delicious . The steak,ale and mushroom pie is the best pie I've tasted. Highly recommended Service: 5/5
The room we stayed in was very clean and everything provided! Towels were changed on request. We had a meal in restaurant on our first night and it was faultless, Great value Great meal great choices on the menu something for everyone! The breakfast was the best we ever had in our opinion. The landlady went out of her way to make our stay a great one and we will be back when visiting family in the area..
Fantastic stopover. Spotlessly clean inside and out. Friendly staff and service. Varied and interesting menu. The Thai Green curry said it was hot and it was! Had to cool mine down with milk. Pies were popular - large portion size.Rooms: 5/5
It was a 53rd birthday treat for a friend, the pub was nice & clean, well set out with good selection of drinks for everyone. The menu was given out which had something for everyone from starters to mains to puddings. As it was my first time there I had the Calamari, salad & dip for starters. Mains I chose a Aberdeen Angus burger which came with chips and salad, also ordered extra chips on the side as I wasn't sure of portion sizes. There was even a page on menu devoted to Thai food. The food came and portion sizes where good, I didn't manage to eat my extra chips I ordered. I was to full for puddings. The Chef also came out and asked if everything was OK, to me that shows confidence in her cooking skills. The Lady at the bar was pleasant & chatty. We was there for just over 2 hours and enjoyed drinks and food. It's definitely worth checking out and next time I'm that way again even if I'm on my own I will definitely visit again. Thanks to the staff for making the evening go well
Lovely pub but a shame 2 out of the 4 meals were disappointing.Salmon with soy sauce no.11 was extremely hot when there was no indication that it would be.other dishes had notification. Was expecting belly pork to be crispy it wasn't and garlic bread was 2 slices of bread when we were told that it would be 4slices .
An excellent pub in beautiful location surrounded by rolling hills and meadows. Clean and comfortable accommodation with a friendly and obliging host as we're all the staff we encountered.Rooms: 5/5
